It’s ridiculous the amount of criticism ABC & Stephanapoulos have gotten over the debate.
The questions about Rev. Wright, the lapel pin & Obama’s relationship with a terrorist (Ayers) are perfectly legitimate and SHOULD have been asked in the debate.
The fact the Obama stumbled and bumbled his way through it showed he is not yet ready to be leader of the free world.
As for the rest of the list, Chris Matthews surely deserves a spot in the top 5, along with Wolf Blitzer.
April 25, 2008 at 5:26 pm
missing from the list:
Dan Abrams, Chris Matthews, Wolf Blitzer, Jack Cafferty, Geraldo

bigred08 so your saying rev right is a major issue facing americans these days? that aint a liberal point of view either its people like you who make the news cycle of each day a COMPLEAT GOD DAMN SNORE
April 25, 2008 at 6:03 pm
I would like to personally nominate Wolf Blitzer for the first 3 spots.. And think its a toss up for 4&5 between Rick Sanchez/Ron Reagan.
April 25, 2008 at 6:14 pm
For heaven’s sake, everyone goes crazy over Wright and there’s, of course, no reaction towards other Christian preachers who support other candidates. In all respects, moments of soundbites don’t likely show the entire church, I mean, should I focus my entire thoughts of a church over one moment of gay-bashing? NO, but will it matter, sure. Anyhow, it just seems like it was a whole bunch of joke questions from what I’ve heard, I mean, lapel pen? You’re more of a patriot if you can wave a flag like a nut then if you’re trying to improve a nation, and this is all more improtant than if you actually serve in the military? (I know, only McCain has in the group)
Anyhow, my own list would probably have to include Rick Sanchez, Olberman (I can’t always stand him), Matthews (he isn’t watchable, god only know why), O’Reilly (I’m sorry, I don’t care for shaping a program around your opinion and yelling this is “no spin”), and the FOX & Friends group (I don’t care for the babble in the morning, I mean, Morning Joe is a lot better, and Morning Express isn’t bad. I don’t give AM a pass, though I haven’t watched since Kyra started filling in for Kiran)

jerziegrl and terance, thanks for the input. I should put up an honorable mention list.
April 25, 2008 at 7:19 pm
Wolf Blitzer isn’t a bad journalist, he’s just boring. And possibly missing a few IQ points. The rest? Great choices one and all.
April 25, 2008 at 9:13 pm
jason,
People attend Christian church to praise and worship God, but also to learn Scripture and see how it applies to their lives. The fact that Obama chose to sit under Wright for 20 years and listen to his version of the gospel is troubling, to say the least.
Now he’s upset that the NC GOP is airing sound bites from Rev. Wright. Why? It’s the rev’s own words! Obama is worried that Wright’s very divisive rhetoric will alienate voters, and it will.
The pastors I follow are excellent preachers and I would love to have everyone I know listen to their sermons. Yet Obama is now apprehensive about letting our country be exposed to Rev. Wright and his views. Why? He knows Wright’s been talking down our country and many of its citizens. And Obama doesn’t want us to know about Wright’s hate speech toward us, of course!
If Wright was preaching the true Gospel and Obama was listening to same, there’d be no problem:
Rom 1:16
“I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. 17For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last,[c] just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”[d]“

Arianna needs to dump her gay ex-hubby’s last name … and seek out her own persona …
Fox & Friends?? How about Gretchen and the hosts de jour of the Weekend show ??
Olby was better as a sportscaster at KTLA …
April 26, 2008 at 4:10 am
Um, can anybody say Geraldo? Is there anyone worse?
April 26, 2008 at 5:05 am
Geraldo isn’t bad, but most people have a problem with his politics or sensationalism. With that said, ED Hill is far worse than Geraldo ever could be. (Try listening to her from 2-3pm.) Strangely, I never noticed how bad she was on F&F..

Missy your missing the point, the news cycles have just killed the main issues affecting americans in this election season some retard in a church is not the cause of the high gas prices etc
gop and Hillary “satan” Clinton rather void the issues and just keep kicking a dead dog till all is left is guts.
and missy if rev wright was “preaching” the Gospel there would not be a problem? so everyone in this world has to hear the same sermans you do right?
Ahh hell missy lets keep praising all the news stastions for running storys about rev write and other dumb storys thats comming from this election cycle and laugh at the people watching debates who want to know what the canadates will do about the home disclosures and many sad issues

Terance: Although she’s improved quite a bit from the early days of her turn to FNL, she is quite annoying to watch during the day, isn’t she?
April 26, 2008 at 9:29 am
Jason,
Obama and Hillary are practically IDENTICAL on every major issue. So there’s little point in asking them where they stand on Iraq, health care, etc….because (1) they’ve already been asked that in every other debate, and (2) their answers are almost exactly alike.
When electing someone, people are interested in their JUDGEMENT.
The fact that Obama sat in that church for 20 years, was married by Wright, his kids baptized by Wright, the title of his book was a Wright quote, and Wright was his “spiritual advisor” and part of his campaign…make the issue VERY RELEVANT.
Here’s a question I would love for Obama to answer:
He says he didn’t hear ANY of the horrendous comments Wright made that reached the news cycles, but he DID hear inappropriate comments from Wright during his 20 years in the church.
I would like to know, what were those inflammatory comments Wright made that Barack admits he heard?
Like it or not, Jason, Obama’s preacher, his relationship with a terrorist, his refusal to wear the U.S. flag on his shirt, and his elitist comments about relgion and guns ARE RELEVANT ISSUES, and should be covered by the media.
April 26, 2008 at 11:15 am
Let me throw this question out there. Is God blessing America? Let’s see, we were attacked by muslim extremists who want us all dead on 9/11. Inflation is out of control, gas prices are at an all-time high, the job market has dried up, the stock market has suffered market hits this year thus far, real estate sales have stopped in their tracks and some people now owe more than their house is even worth, the costs of medicines and medical care continue to spiral out of control while the cost of health insurance is now beyond the reach of most Americans. Does that sound like to you that God is blessing us? I may not agree with the way Wright said it but what he said was accurate. And that in my opinion is the most inflammatory thing he said and that was true. Sure the GOP politicans stand up there next to Lee Greenwood with their little flag lapel pins on and their hands over their hearts and sing, “God Bless the USA” but is he really? Nope.
And if your bar on who can be president is what kind of tie tack or lapel pin they wear then it explains how we ended up with the politicans we have now, this fixation on the trival and not even focusing on the substative issues that are plaguging the majority of Americans except for a very select percentage of the population who just keep getting richer and richer.
April 26, 2008 at 1:36 pm
oh yea thats gonna solve alot of problems people want to hear good one bud
April 26, 2008 at 2:21 pm
Clind — At this point, I can’t stand more than one sentence out of ED’s mouth. I guess she is pretty good at ad libbing, but that obviously doesn’t translate over to reading from a teleprompter. And, since FNC moved her off F&F, I do see the logic in keeping a paid employee on the job rather than sitting at home like CNN did with Aaron Brown. However, it looks like they could find something for her to do off camera.
April 26, 2008 at 2:34 pm
But the thing is, if they were just waiting out her contract, why do they go and give her more featured things to do, like host (and promote) specials and guest-host other shows (like the Factor and News Watch)?
I admit the one time I didn’t mind her was actually when she did guest-host the Factor the other night. But I guess the format lends itself well to annoying personalities…
April 26, 2008 at 3:24 pm
The Huffington Post is a joke. More biased than any other blog… very radical and very pro Obama. Its like the Obama blog.
April 26, 2008 at 5:01 pm
Wow, Jason. What a brilliant retort.
Clearly, you like Obama, so you don’t think these things are issues.
If they applied to someone you didn’t like (apparently Hillary or any Republican), you would think they were newsworthy.
A presidential candidate MUST be fully vetted by the news media in every aspect. Until the Wright incident came out, Obama received VERY LITTLE scrutiny. I believe there’s plenty more we don’t know about him, that we should.
As for the list, I can’t stand Arianna Huffington, but when did she become a newscaster? She’s a blogger.
jerziegirl’s list is pretty dead-on.
April 26, 2008 at 5:21 pm
oh yea i am pro obama lol what a statement that is, it wouldnt matter if it was clinton or even McCain there pastors are not affecting my way of life
its their votes thats affecing all americans thats when decsions are being made you dont get it do you?
April 27, 2008 at 10:57 am
Jason,
Perhaps you should watch the re-airing of Fox News Sunday this afternoon.
Obama himself said Rev. Wright is a “legitimate” campaign issue.
And I’ll say it again. Hillary and Obama are IDENTICAL on almost every single issue. What’s the point of a debate that only asks them where they stand on the issues…. WHEN THEIR STANCES ARE THE SAME???
April 27, 2008 at 4:30 pm
only reason why rev wright is a “legitimateā campaign issue is because news org cant let it go, like i said before its like beating a dead dog untill all is left is guts
you still have not answerd my question “bigred08″ is Rev Wright affecting you in your life? can you sleep at night can you wake up in the morning lol
April 27, 2008 at 11:04 pm
Americans deserve the leaders they get. If they care that Obama choses to ACT patriotically instead of wearing a peice of metal made in china to prove it, then it shows that we need better schools.
John McCain does not wear a flag on his lapel and I believe he is patriotic.
WE all need to grow up. We need to focus on the issues that affect the country. And read or watch the whole rev. Wright sermon, not just the 20 second loop (and the one from the sundays before that, and the sundays after that) and if you have an open mind you will see he is just a preacher.
John McCain worked hard to get the backing of a preacher who said the catholic church is a satanic whore.
None of this really has anything to do with who can lead this country out of resession or make it safer. But it makes good TV/talk radio for those that don’t want to think hard.
April 28, 2008 at 8:44 pm
Jason, no president is going to have that big of an effect on my daily life. They just aren’t as powerful as people make them out to be.
The candidates promise all these things, but how often do they actually deliver?
Everything must go through the House and the Senate before a President can sign it, and even then, it doesn’t mean it will get done.
Case in point…the border fence?
The beauty of living in this country is we’re free to make our own decisions, and determine our own fates. Government has very little to do with it.
So your point is moot. By your reasoning, none of the candidates are newsworthy.
