Jackson and Obama: The Story Behind The Story…
Obviously the big news today was Jesse Jackson’s self-destructive remarks about Barack Obama. Everyone’s talking about the remarks. But nobody is asking the pertinent questions which I want to know the answers to.
1) Why did FNC sit on this for days? If it’s news now, it was news then. Was FNC afraid of being tagged with being out to get Jackson and/or Obama? I say FNC should have gone with it immediately because it was news. And this leads right in to the next question which is even more important…
2) Who forced the issue? Someone talked. If FNC was intent on not airing the off camera conversation as appears the case (until the situation changed today), how did word of it get out? The only people who knew of that conversation first hand were Jackson, Reid Tuckson, and the people in the FNC control room who heard the conversation. Someone had to go to Jackson and tell him. Otherwise he wouldn’t have attempted his pre-emptive strike at getting ahead of the issue on CNN earlier in the day. Jackson didn’t figure out suddenly on his own today that the conversation got picked up by the mics. He had to have been alerted. So who did the deed and what was the motivation?
Okay media and political writers/bloggers…start digging. This is a quintessential process story. And it needs to be told.

When did Bill Oreilly come back from vacation? What did he do the first two days of the week on the show if he was on?

I doubt Fox or Bo would hold the story to not seem anything towards Obama. Oh yeah, nevermind my previous comment. I think it was a story the people in the control room gave to BO, and he had some nyt stuff to take care of before making some news on his own.

If you think this was Bill O’Reilly’s baby for him to do with as he pleased, you are so wrong.

Is this sarcasm, Spud? Because ALL we’ve heard from the media this election cycle is process and horserace. The Gaffe du Jour political coverage in particular is a disgrace.

Spud, on issue #1, I would bet that FOX didn’t even realize they had such a damning admission from Rev. Jackson until later. He was obviously waiting to go on. Probably nobody in the control room was monitoring him as he said it under his breathe. It more than likely wasn’t until someone went to edit a soundbite from the ISO tape that they discovered it.

Axecuse fahrenheit452, but “he said it under his breathe”?
The correct word is breath. You should really axe someone to proofread and check the spelling of your messages before you post them.
With all due respect of course, I am so proud of myself.
Axe me.
