Fox and Friends to Begin at 6am…
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s Tim Cuprisin writes that Fox and Friends will now begin at 5 am…(via J$)
Starting today, Fox News Channel’s “Fox & Friends” morning show with Steve Doocy, Gretchen Carlson and Brian Kilmeade pushes its start time up an hour to 5 a.m., expanding the show to three hours.
At first I was getting tripped up by the 5am time. But then I remembered that Cuprisin is in Chicago Milwaukee (DUH! It’s called the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel…Spud=idiot) so that means it’s 6 am ET. So the next question is, what happened to Fox and Friends First where Alisyn Camerota would sit in? Is that done with?
July 13, 2008 at 10:25 pm
I always thought Fox and Friends First was pointless. Just to give the female co-host an hour off? Didn’t make sense. It just means it will be more streamlined to compete as a complete program against MSNBC and CNN instead of technically being two separate shows.
July 13, 2008 at 11:46 pm
But then I remembered that Cuprisin is in Chicago
Since when is the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel in Chicago?
In the same time zone as Chicago, yes. But, actually in Central Daylight Time

Oh, so you mean to tell me Alisyn Camerota is having her air time cut short? Imagine my shock.. HA!
July 14, 2008 at 4:57 am
2hrs of Gretchen is too much … 3hrs is beyond insane & Roger Ailes needs to be FIRED !!
Had the old goat been smart, he would’ve given the F&F hostess job to Aly for all 3 hours of the show …
This is yet another majorly stupid mistake on Ailes’ part … and for that, he must pay …
July 14, 2008 at 6:20 am
Why would they cut Alisyn’s time short?
July 14, 2008 at 6:48 am
she probably blogged about something that someone didnt like…
July 14, 2008 at 7:03 am
Or maybe this is not even true. Alisyn is off for the next week, so maybe the paper got mixed up.
July 14, 2008 at 7:07 am
Less of Alisyn is perfect for me.
She tried to hog the camera every chance she got.
She is the biggest self promoter at FNC, with the exception of Brian Wilson.
July 14, 2008 at 8:21 am
It’ll be interesting to see if Ms. Camerota also loses her “update” duties as well.
Originally I thought AC would do a great job taking over for ED. However, once I got a whiff of her on F&F weekend.. that all went out the door. And I can’t think of anything left at FNC for her to foul up. So, good riddance!
Also, its really a shame I thought very highly of her when she did reporting from Boston and filled in on the Fox Report.. My, how things change!
July 14, 2008 at 9:31 am
mediatabs: Thanks for correcting Spud. I just spent 2+ weeks in Milwaukee and know it sure ain’t Chicago. Or San Jose!
So, good riddance!
Terance: Aren’t we getting a little too presumptuous here?
July 14, 2008 at 9:50 am
Perhaps, TTC. But, don’t get surprised if her contract isn’t renewed.
July 14, 2008 at 10:47 am
Alisyn is moving to the weekends, according to TVNewser. If that’s true, why not also get rid of dave briggs who is not ready for the big leagues and bring back Greg Kelly or Kelly Wright.
I find F&F to be a completely brainless show, but they should at least put people on there who make some sense.
July 14, 2008 at 10:52 am
Greg Kelly isn’t coming back to FNC, he’s going to WNYW’s Good Day New York.
July 14, 2008 at 11:18 am
Yeah, cornycob, I’ve kind of gotten used to Morris; he at least acts deferential to the weekday crew when he guest-hosts. But Briggs has to go! I can’t stand him. When he did the weekday show a couple of weeks ago, he was talking over everyone and even ruined the humorous Chris Wallace segment they have on Fridays. The voice is pretty bad, too.
July 14, 2008 at 11:23 am
So, is Ms. Camerota happy about getting demoted back to weekends? Or is this FNC’s way of trying to make her quit?
Also, I guess that leaves Ainsley out in the cold? Perhaps “leaking” to a blogger really did do her in, eh?
Also, any word on Megan Henderson? Now, she’s actually one I wouldn’t mind checking out. Anyway, I don’t have a problem with either of the guys on there. (And think both of them are better “suited” for weekend duty as opposed to Kelly Wright and Greg Kelly.)
July 14, 2008 at 11:29 am
Corny, if she really is going back to the weekend show, who gets bumped? I can’t imagine her getting along with dullards like Clayton and Dave, so maybe they’re going to be replaced, as well.
Supernoxic, Clayton is an idiot who shouldn’t be allowed near any segments that aren’t mindless and silly. In the little bit that I saw of F&F this morning, he screwed up a guest’s name (was corrected by the guest), and over the weekend, he kept referring to former President Bush as “Mr. H.W. Bush.”
He’s also made a donkey’s rear end out of himself in the few politically-related segments I’ve seen on the weekend show, making both his ignorance and his left-wing bias apparent.
July 14, 2008 at 11:45 am
I like AC and am disappointed that she will be moving to the weekends. I don’t care about the weekend show, so If I don’t watch it (which most weekends I don’t) I don’t care. However, I loved Allisyn, the a.t.s.s., her blogging etc.
I guess TPTB realized the weekend show stinks something fierce and they are trying to fix the mire it is in.
July 14, 2008 at 12:55 pm
I can’t believe I’m defending Alison.
I thought she was a camera hog at one time, but she seems to have become more likeable over the past several months. I was actually thinking she’d get promoted to Gretchen’s job. Just goes to show you what I know!
But really, it’s sad the way Fox lets their employees go. I still can’t believe what happened w/Laurie Dhue – she was doing great, with a regular spot on The Factor, and the next week she’s gone. Page is now gone (apparently), as are Carol Iovanna and Donna Fidicua. They were all excellent news people, and it’s sad to see them go.
July 14, 2008 at 1:13 pm
Missy, awhile ago some person I guess an FNC insider posted on TVN about the Shahnaz Hussain incident and TVN made a note of it. So trusting this person was for real I asked what happened to Dhue and the person responed with this
” i can not confirm that the actual story with marsden is this but a very credible source in the building had told me personally that she was up to her stalking ways with an anchor i won’t say who but not BOR, so she was fired on the spot but it was a huge scene with security present and her being very vocal. As for Laurie Dhue her contract was up and they choose not to renew it but she was one of the people that roger ailes was addressing in his “don’t be a diva” e-mail a few months ago. Dhue is not an easy person to work with a group of producers went to their big boss and all said they refuse to work with her because she is down right demeaning. The day she left she was hysterical crying screaming escorted by security not allowed to get her personal effects they were later boxed and sent to her. “
July 14, 2008 at 1:14 pm
Sometimes people want to leave. Other times they are forced out. Right now, we don’t know what’s up with AC. Heck, we don’t even know the whole story behind the Paige Hopkins thing.
July 14, 2008 at 1:16 pm
Actually the person was saying nice things about Shahnaz Hussain and said it wasn’t anything like Marsden or Dhue so I asked what happened to them both and that was the answer.
July 14, 2008 at 3:02 pm
Lou, thanks for the info! I have not even heard of Shahnaz Hussain; I googled and still can’t find any info. But that is very interesting re: Rachel Marsden and Laurie Dhue, and makes me feel better to think that they were not just let go without cause.
July 14, 2008 at 3:06 pm
I take that back – I just located the story: http://www.jossip.com/is-a-race-and-sex-discrimination-suit-about-to-rock-fox-business-20080516/

I was a little suprised by this; Alyson is not really my cup of tea, but considering the amount of face time she got I assumed she was in good standing. At least her move to the weekend is acknowledgement that it needs to be changed – I was beginning to think no one at the Fox network watched that show so they had no idea how bad it had become. As far as Ainsley – lord, send her back to SC. She’s a moron
July 14, 2008 at 4:38 pm
Clayton Morris is the only redeeming thing about F&F because he adds a much needed diversity of opinion to the show…
July 14, 2008 at 4:40 pm
Terance: Ainsley Earhardt is still busy: she does the updates in prime time Monday thru Wednesday and usually does a piece for Hannity’s America.
July 14, 2008 at 7:29 pm
Alison is no old woman by any means, but she’s certainly got 10 years up on the two guys. What’s up with that – is she supposed to act as baby sitter or something?
It just seems strange for them to pair her up with those two.
July 15, 2008 at 2:12 am
Gretchen is an idiot … For a woman that’s 42yo, she’s way too naive / sheltered / dumb / ignorant / etc …
Page and Alisyn are the same age as Gretch …
Clayton is a flippin’ idiot … He’s too much of a political activist … Fox made him change his bio at Progressive Action’s site …
Ainsley’s just too saccharine & overly sweet in an extremely fake way … Send her back to SC with her teeth whiteners … and she can take the bobblehead Courtney with her …

Regarding Laurie Dhue. It is in keeping with what I saw once on Fox & Friends when Juliet Huddy was still on it, Laurie was on as a gest and they asked her about being on Geraldos show and Juliet blurted out that Laurie was a lot of trouble and Laurie gave the impression that it was do Geraldos show or she`s gone.
August 14, 2008 at 7:06 pm
And Gretchen. I hear she will be leaving Fox News, she asked to be let out of her multi year contract.
Im thinking she`s treated rather badly, she`s not popular with viewers, Kiran Chetry wanted her gone, so they say?.
