More Fox and Friends Weekend News…
TV News Review’s One Eyed Man blogs about Fox and Friends Weekend and fills in a couple of blanks…
Yesterday I heard from sources close to the happenings at F&F and I can now report that it is a 100%certainty that Alisyn Camerota WILL BE BACK on July 26th, hosting the weekend F&F. She will be joining Clayton Morris and Dave Briggs as the hosts. Ainsley Earhardt will no longer be on the show. Additionally, Camerota will be doing the news headlines also, same as Carlson does on the weekday version. This means Courtney Friel will no longer be on the show performing those duties. (Although this blogger would not be surprised to see Friel coming on the show to report entertainment news.)

I really have my doubts that anyone at all will view this as a promotion for Alisyn. She has stated herself she doesn’t want to work weekends. She likes them free.
She also lost out on a weekly hosting gig. Now to be relegated to the weekends.
I’ve seen others point it out that Alisyn’s weekday numbers have been declining. So it really doesn’t make any sense that they would give her a promotion.
Ainsley is sure to be missed. I wonder what Fox will do with her. She seemed like an up and comer.
It is nice to hear that Courtney is banished from the show. That ditz didn’t add anything at all. If the show was on late at night, she would be perfect for a drinking game. Everytime she screws up, everyone take a shot. Most people probably couldn’t last 30 minutes.

Alisyn Camerota acts like she’s a teenager most of the time.. And I think FNC’s trying to make her quit. I mean, it must be terribly demoralizing getting sent back to the weekends while on vacation, eh?

This certainly cannot be viewed as a promotion. IMO, it seems that she is being relegated to the weekends to save a dying show. Ainsley seems very genuine and sweet, but she needs more polish. There have been several times, even today, that she just doesn’t have a clue what she is talking about. I can assume that she will continue to do work for “Hannity’s America” and the like.
As for Friel……while she has changed her persona a bit on the weekends this is no loss for the viewers. She best serves as an entertainment reporter. She just can’t pull off serious news, yet.
I am sorry to see Allisyn go to the weekends, I liked the weekday team.

After YEARS, I finally started to take a liking to Alyson just recently. I actually thought she had earned her way to more TV time, and thought they’d consider putting her in Gretchen’s spot. I guess I couldn’t have been more wrong.
And Ainsley seemed like she was doing fine, growing on the job on F & F Weekends. It is a major mistake, IMO, to put Alyson in there, esp. if Fox thinks her ratings aren’t good. And if Ainsley needs help, so do the two guys she was paired with.
I think they should have just left things alone, in this case.

I should have read the actual article before commenting. The author of the article states that both Alyson and FNC see this move as a promotion!

I guess it can be seen as a promotion b/c she is hosting now, she will be center chair, versus just doing F&F first, news reading and blogging. However, I don’t see going back to weekends as a promotion. F&F ovbiously has so many more viewers than the weekend gig, and I honestly believe they are putting AC back on weekends to save that show. It would be in the grave in a matter of months if something hadn’t changed. I am just sorry that it was AC that had to be brought on.
I was also thinking, Dave and Clayton had been on F&F a lot lately filling in. Anyone think they were just trying to get them more practice time with the week day crew in hopes to improve their on air jobs? Just a thought

I happen to like Alyson Camertoa… and I will give the weekend show a go again. Alyson can do nothing but improve it. I quit watching Fox News during the weekends because of those buffoons. Definitely not a good way to start the morning off with them. They were too irritating.

I’ve seen others point it out that Alisyn’s weekday numbers have been declining.
Somebody will have to explain this one: how the 4th wheel on a show with three stars can have her weekday numbers” declining.

Alisyn’s numbers probably came from the f&f 1st. I won’t miss her. She had said she wanted to go back to Boston. If her weekend numbers decline she may get her wish. With those two bookends on either side of her on the weekend show her numbers should decline. Unless there is an upgrade at those positions I will not be watch the weekend show.

Top of the charts,
Fox and Friends First was a seperate show. It had it’s own ratings. First has declined in its numbers. While, I believe Fox and Friends is up almost 200,000 viewers from a year ago.
JP also makes a good point that Alisyn has stated she wants to go back to Boston. She may get her wish.
In all seriousness, this can’t be viewed as a promotion. Look how much exeperience Alisyn has. But for the weekend female host they have tried out newcomers like: Courtney Friel, Aisnley and the female they flew in from Dallas.
When they were giving lightweights like those a shot at the job, it can hardly be viewed as a step up. It’s obviously one step above newsreader.

Maybe they decided on this after the losers on the weekend show were stuck with handling the Tony Snow news. Its about time a pro is in the center.

Who did Page piss off? That’s what I want to know. Mostly everyone liked her and she was good for the show. They can put Page back with Alisyn and keep Briggs. He is much much less annoying then Clayton.

Starbroker: Still, Camerota was not the only host of F&F First. Doesn’t Judge Napolitano co-anchor a few days a week?
Unless FNC has some internal research, solely blaming her for bad ratings on a 6am ET show seems like a big leap.
I actually liked Alysin when she was the FNC Boston correspondent but her replacement (Molly Line) has done a good job.

jpconway451 – Alisyn isn’t truly serious about going back to Boston right away … People need to learn when she’s joking …
lurkerlou – I’m with you … Who did Page piss off?? I think Briggs can be salvaged and trained to be not so loud or annoying … Though, I think he probably was louder as he was trying to fight the dimwits (Ainsley & Liberal Clayton) for airtime / opinions as those two seemed to drown him out on everything …
I flipped over to the show a number of weeks back & Courtney was trying to read the headlines & tossed back to Briggs & Co … Briggs kept trying to say something and the dimwits kept cutting him off … I think this was the day when Courtney was doing her peepee dance whilst talking about Paul Newman bowing out of directing a play because he’s sick and she said “Get well or something” …
F&FF’s numbers could be down because the producer would always bring Gretch out before the hour had actually ended … And there are a lot of people that don’t like Gretch … I don’t think Gretch is gonna improve the F&FF numbers … With Aly being on vacation this week & last, I haven’t watched F&F … And with the idiots on F&FW, I haven’t watch more than 2-5 minutes of it since Feb …
If Aly’s gonna save F&FW … They’ve got to dump Clayton … He’s a liberal and we all know it as he was stupid enough to have a bio online at a left wing political activist site (which has since been severely edited) … Plus, everytime he opens his mouth he liberal bias comes out … He should be on CNN or MSNBC … NOT on Fox …
