Cuts to CNBC - Word leaked out that CNBC will fall under the budget blade for this latest round of NBC Universal cuts.

What’s Not:

Nielsen drop “out of home” ratings – There was demand for it but Nielsen dropped it anyways.

FBN’s ratings leak – Nothing wrong with leaking ratings. Leaking ratings when the ratings being leaked can be disputed as to whether they’re a valid comparison is another matter.

CNN cuts Glenn Beck loose early – I’m still shaking my head that CNN let Beck jump to FNC early…

CNBC yields G20 coverage to FBN – Saturday FBN was live covering the G20 meetings. I checked CNBC several times Saturday and each time it was running tape. It may not have really been that noteworthy considering the G20 was being hosted by a lame duck but from a perception standpoint CNBC probably shouldn’t have done it. I’m expecting FBN ads needling CNBC for this…

    NBC Universal Goes Green this week, nudging their viewers to “Green Their Routine,” yet they cut down a healthy, hardy 70+ year old evergreen tree and burn God-knows-how-much-gas to transport it to Rockefeller Center in time for the Christmas tree lighting on Dec. 3. Wouldn’t it be better for the planet to use an artificial tree every year?
