Insiders tell FTVLive that the person responsible for managing the “talent” told Steve Capus he had nothing to worry about. He asked her are you sure and she said yes.

That sounds to me like an obscure reference to Elena Nachmanoff, NBC’s news talent major domo. I heard noises way back that Nachmanoff was once a big booster of William Arkin so the idea that she’d back McCafferey isn’t a stretch.
