Contrary to popular opinion many, if not most, Wall Streeters are Democrat and gleefully voted for Obama. I wonder after hearing Obama lambast and attack the entire financial services industry (including those firms not receiving tax payer funds)for handing out a 40% reduced bonus for 08 if they still feel the same Obama worship as before? I expect they do, leftish politics always seems to trump common sense.
The other irony is Republicans are always assaulted with emotional tirades for promoting business and free enterprise. Now when it comes to bailing out bad businesses and failing executives it’s the Democrats that come riding to the rescue with big fat socialist solution. Most Republicans believe that bad business decisions have consequences and they don’t support bailouts with preverse rewards. We say let them file chapter 11 and let the smarter more successful businesses fill in the gaps, hire more workers and grow. It’s called creative destruction and has worked economic miracles for centuries. With the current mentality, the Democrats would be bailing out the buggy whip industry and subsidizing Woolworths.
So far it looks like Jimmy Carter’s 2nd term. Granted it’s early, but hes off to a hell of a start.
Sorry, bigred., I think you’re wrong. Objective journalism is not dying a very painful death. Patrick Swayze is dying is dying a very painful death. Objective journalism is more like Sunny Von Bulow. Moribund for years, it’s been officially dead since last year.
It’s practiced every day in newspapers and on TV and radio every day. No network or paper is perfect. They all have a mixture of the straight news side, the editorial side, and the murky not-sure-what-it-is. FNC, MSNBC, all of them.

Via TVNewser…. CNN is now selling t-shirts cashing in on the Inauguration and Obamamania. “Obama raises his hand, lifts a nation” says one of them.
Objective journalism is dying a very painful death.

Willier, I stand corrected. Would a better analogy be that CNN is dumping more dirt onto the coffin?

It’s quite a feat to dump dirt onto your own coffin.!

It’s quite a feat for ALL conservatives to be convinced that ALL journalism is dead. A little paranoid, aren’t we?
