Hot: Mediabistro Sam Donaldson send-off montage. One-of-a-kind in so many ways. Underrated, perhaps because he wasn’t a big-time anchor(at least not that I noticed).
JR///Donaldson–Maybe it’s just my perception. He doesn’t seem(to me) to loom as large as some of the other big names out there. He’s done just about everything, and quite well, but it seems like anchors and Russert-types, with one long-running gig get more love. Or maybe it’s because he didn’t die prematurely. Yeah, maybe that’s it. Stream of thought.
Hot: Fox for covering parts of the annual CPAC convention.
Also Hot: Rush, who gave an excellent synopsis of conservatism, doing a great job of explaining exactly WHAT the dems and their culture of entitlement has done for minority and victim groups (nothing but damage), and explaining WHY he wants 0bama’s type of government to fail (basically because it’s punishing those who’ve accomplished something, making them support those who will not or do not achieve). He also explained that we as a compassionate culture would, or course, help those who are UNABLE to help themselves.
Anyway, a great speech. Probably available on CSPAN.com by now, Elmo and anyone else who wants to see it!
hnmnf, I didn’t know CNN was carrying it. Rush kept stating that both Fox and CSPAN were broadcasting live, but one of the CSPAN networks was airing a boring book review (is there any other kind), while the other had on a black convention with Tavis Smiley!
Hot: Fed Chairman Bernacke stating that the Recession should end by the end of 2009. Also, Rush’s speech @ th e CPAC convention. Like him or not, his speech will be in the newscycle for a couple of days.
Not Hot: Chris Matthews “channeling” Meg Ryan with his “Oh God” moment. You’d think after being on live TV for so many years that Chris would learn to always assume that his mic is live. One should never confuse Chris with being a consujmate broadcast professional

NOT HOT: Bad mouthing the economy. The media’s (and Obama’s) dire forecasts do nothing but make the situation worse.

HOT: Trillion is the new Billion. Obama Budget coverage, even with my limited cable access here on the Big Island, was extensive.
NOT: Rush to Judgement on the “Oh God” comment.

Hot:
Olbermann’s excellent coverage of CPAC whose attendees and speakers as usual, represent the epitome of douchebaggery.
