Well not quite, but seeing as I did take three weeks off and deprived you of ICN for so long, I might as well share some of the photos that were shot in Palau and Yap.
Update: I added captions to the photos.

Beautiful. Thanks Spud.

Wow, paradise.
I’d never leave, although, given human nature, after about a year I guess I’d get bored.
I could handle the boredom, I’m sure.

Simply amazing. True paradise.

Really, they’d have to handcuff me and drag me back to the airport for the flight home.
‘No, stop, I’m not leaving, Mommy pleasssse….I don’t want to go…..
Maybe I can convert to, er, Uighurism….

Easy for you to say until you’ve been there. Palau has 90 degree temperatures and 80% humidity almost year round. It has two seasons, the rainy season and the really rainy season.l I saw it rain somewhere about half the time I was there. Luxuries that you and I take for granted are harder to find and cost a lot more. It’s a great place to visit, even for an extended period. But I wouldn’t want to live there.

Man, you can’t believe anything on the internet anymore.

Spud, didn’t you go diving in the Blue Hole? Is that the pictures labeled blue corner? Btw, do you have any photos of the blue hole from sea level? I saw some while reading about it a while back.

I like your priorities (uh oh, hears Laural’s footsteps…).

You really can’t see the blue hole easily from the surface. And I didn’t get a picture. I may have video though.

Do you have any pictures of the Uyghurs?

Great pics – thanks for sharing.
Years ago I went to Australia and went snorkeling in the great barrier reef area. Not anywhere near the equivalent of diving, I know, but those pictures reminded me of all of the cool stuff I saw that day.

“I like your priorities…”
So do I.

The Uyghurs arrived after I left…

You have to pretty far north in the Great Barrier Reef to get fish life that approximates what you’ll find in Palau. A lot of the spots tourists go to these days have reefs that have partially died off.

I loved the school of blue jacks.

I believe they’re silver/grey. The water makes them look blue.
