What’s Hot/What’s Not: 06/21/09
What’s Hot:
Iranian Uprising – This week’s Iran election fallout has dominated the news cycle with CNN and FNC devoting extensive coverage, particularly on the weekends.
What’s Not:
MSNBC’s Weekend Iran coverage – Tape is not an acceptable alternative. It drives everyone to your competition.
Page Six – Page Six put up a ridiculous item on Contessa Brewer being pissed off at Dylan Ratigan. The real story was who fed that to Page Six and why…
CNN lagging behind FNC in HD rollout – CNN was first to HD by making its NY studios HD capable. But it’s been painfully slow in getting its DC and Atlanta operations HD ready. This inexplicable delay has allowed FNC to leapfrog past it in the HD department.

Very weak on MSNBC’s part to be running doc blocs while the other two networks are covering what is going on in Iran, even if the hard news was very limited. They must be really cash-strapped if they can’t get one of their dayside anchors and a few people to monitor twitter and youtube like the other two networks were doing.
