The Hazards of Live TV: #25,013

Seems like today’s the day for Hazards. Though this one occurred yesterday apparently. I know talking about Iraq is now passe but putting Egypt in its place is not an improvement. Whoever did this should be fired at FNC. Only an ignoramus could screw this up. After all the years we’ve been focused on the region if you can’t tell Iraq from Egypt you shouldn’t be working in TV news. (via Liz Mazahery)

Are summer interns running that place?

Hey, at least they don’t sit there and lie to us about EVERYTHING, like Keith Olberdouchebag does every night on MSLSD.

I’m TERRIBLE at geography… and even I know that’s not right!
You can see Egypt FROM Israel! I know… I’ve done it! It’s just a chain link fence, and bunch of armed guards (both sides)! They waved at us (the Egyptians, that is)! Ahh… good times, wait, was were we talking about?
Oh yes… YIKES! Spud’s right… time for some walking papers, indeed!

I don’t have to judge whether this is “quite frankly unacceptable” or not, inasmuch as the director is on site and can look into the matter and make a more than merely snap judgment.

Whoever put this together obviously knows where Jordan and Syria are and so likely also knows the difference between Egypt and Iraq. I can imagine how this could happen. Everyone makes mistakes and it’s difficult to find them in your own work.
“Should be fired at FNC” is a bit harsh.
