Wow…did anyone see BOR “standing up” for Lou Dobb’s family? Also, he really went after NBC News & GE tonight for allowing “NBC” (code word for MSNBC) to attack an Hispanic woman & her children.

Yeah, and anyone with a sense of fairness should stick up for Lou Dobb’s family. Some liberals have gotten so caught up in blurring the distinct line between “legal” and “illegal” immigration that they fail to realise it is perfectly acceptable for someone to oppose illegal immigration while being married to an Hispanic woman.

Of course it is. But he’s being either naive or disingenuous if he doesn’t realize that the nativists he is enabling with his ‘coverage’ don’t care that his wife is a legal resident and make no real distinction between American hispanics and the Evil Other.

There’s always a small racist population who will interpret words to suit their small minds, but that’s not a reason to dumb-down legitimate debate. I’m not a Dobb’s fan, myself, but his argument about illegal immigration has always blamed the government for not controlling the border, not those who’ve been sneaking across in hopes of a better life for their families.
I suppose experiences and attitudes may differ in Southern California, Arizona, and maybe NYC, but in middle America peoples of Latino ancestry aren’t usually thought of as being distinguished from those of European ancestry.
Come to think of it, the only times I’ve heard anything derogatory about Mexicans around here came from angry union workers.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
I’m supposed to see them TWICE next month! NOOOO!
This is clearly the most important story of the day, damnit!

No. The most important story of the day is the love of my life, Sookie Stackhouse, getting engaged to vampire Bill Compton. Damn her!
August 6, 2009 at 9:40 am
Oh…True Blood. Took me a while, Red. Haven’t seen it.
August 6, 2009 at 11:12 am
You should. It’s the best show on TV right now.

Of course.

Of course.
Hmmm, never mind. I tend not to read Laree’s daily Imus updates. The Ranch is a good thing and worth mentioning. My bad.

–Ranch is a good thing–
Even a broken clock, eh?
August 6, 2009 at 2:58 pm
I like ranch with spicy chicken wings.
August 6, 2009 at 4:15 pm
I like spicy chicken wings, with blue cheese, on a ranch, twice a day. No no no, Red and Laural, you can’t top me this time. I win I win I win!
Slow news day.

Poor joe. But, hey, seen one you’ve seen ‘em both. Eh?
August 6, 2009 at 5:53 pm
Hooters food is overpriced & isn’t that good, but of course, their brea$ts are better than their wings.

That’s total b.s. Art. People who are against illegal immigration take that stand because it’s ILLEGAL immigration.
There are thousands, if not millions, of LEGAL Hispanics in this country who feel exactly the same way.
