Beck Advertiser “Backlash”…
Reuters’ Kenneth Hein writes about advertisers pulling out of FNC’s Glenn Beck program…
A Fox representative noted that Geico is dropping its ads from the show but was quick to note that it was shifting dollars to other programs. “The advertisers referenced have all moved their spots from Beck to other programs on the network, so there has been no revenue lost,” the rep said.
Beck’s show pulled in an average of slightly more than 2 million viewers for each of its 19 telecasts in July, according to Nielsen.
Progressive Insurance representative Cristy Cote said that there has been a lot of confusion surrounding the company’s involvement with the program. “We had not bought advertising on the show in the first place,” she said, “so when we learned that our advertising had appeared on the show by mistake, we contacted the network to correct the error.”
She said Progressive tries to “avoid programing that we believe our customers and potential customers might find extremely offensive.”
A Procter & Gamble representative echoed that sentiment: “At times our ads are run by mistake on shows that they were not meant to … Any of our ads that ran did so by mistake, and we’ll try to make sure that doesn’t happen in the future.”

Looks like the audience will be hearing “THIS…..is GOLD” a lot more during Beck’s hour.

Should I buy gold from an Ex-Director of the U.S. Mint or from an Ex-Con?

These lefties think they’re making a differece, lol. Sure. Beck draws an uncomparably large audience for his time slot. I bet it will be hard to find new advertisers! With their history, what’s progressive doing advertising on FNC anyway? I would think they would sponsor WPITWooooooooooorrrrrrllllllld, or something.

Come on Spud… couldn’t you have titled this one, “Advertiser Beck-lash?”
A little flair wouldn’t kill you…

So we’re supposed to believe that only car insurance companies, and gold dealers, will advertise on GB’s very highly rated program?
The Geico ads and Flo, with Progressive, are cute, but (mild expletive) them if they’re going to single out Beck for his rhetoric. No one seemed to care about pejoratives against President Bush when he was POTUS.
So hopefully we Beck fans will remember these advertisers when it comes time to renew policies/purchase products, whatever. If they can advertise on ANY MSNBC program, they can certainly put up with Beck’s rhetoric.

Somebody’s got give that girl a sitcom. She’s adorable.

Why is “backlash” in quotes? Sargento, Progressive, Geico, State Farm and a few other advertisers have all pulled any ads they had on Beck’s show. Doesn’t it say something significant that these advertisers said they don’t want anything to do with this freakjob hate monger? If you don’t think it does, you’re a fool.

Oh it says something alright. But… not much.
Check back in a month, see if they’ve returned. That’s the real test.
