FOX Business Network (FBN) and the Tennis Channel have agreed to bring viewers daily updates of market and courtside action during the U.S. Open, announced Kevin Magee, Executive Vice President, FOX News.
Starting August 31, FBN and the Tennis Channel will exchange a daily update, giving viewers on each network access to all the action that takes place both on Wall Street and on the courts at Flushing Meadows. Monday through Friday, FBN’s Money For Breakfast will feature the Court Report with recaps from the previous day’s US Open matches. The Tennis Channel will break into US Open coverage at market close to give viewers the FOX Business Network Update, a summary of all the market moves from the day.
In making the announcement, Magee said “This is the first time the Tennis Channel is covering the Open and we’re excited to be there with them.”
This year marks Tennis Channel’s inaugural coverage of the US Open, one of the largest annual events in professional sports and the most important of all American tennis events. The network will offer 72 live match hours and 240 hours of high-definition tournament programming overall, with a round-the-clock schedule that gives viewers a virtual “grounds pass” to the two-week competition.“We’re truly looking forward to working with Fox Business Network to share content that’s mutually beneficial to both of our viewer bases,” said Robyn Miller, senior vice president, marketing, Tennis Channel. “This type of joint-programming partnership is the first of its kind for Tennis Channel, and we’re thrilled to be able to offer their business insight and analysis to our audience, while at the same time putting our tennis updates in front of theirs.”
The Tennis Channel’s Kevin Frazier will anchor the Court Report on FBN every morning at 8:20am ET while FBN’s David Asman anchor FOX Business Network Update on The Tennis Channel every day at 6:00pm ET to recap the markets movers and shakers.
In addition, FBN and the Tennis Channel will kick off their partnership on Monday, August 31 with a tournament outside FBN headquarters in Midtown, Manhattan. Tennis duo Bob and Mike Bryan will be on hand to challenge fans and anchors in a two vs. two mini-tournament that will air on FBN.

I doubt many people will see the FBN on TTC action.. Considering ESPN2 will also have coverage at the same time and the marquee match ups..
TTC 11am – 7pm
ESPN2 1pm – 11pm (With an hour intermission.)
Translation: ESPN will hog the marquee match ups and TTC will get stuck with outside courts. That said, TTC is also on Directv’s Choice Xtra and mostly on “sports pack” in cable land.
I watch Directv’s mix channel for the first week of all tournaments.

New fact: Terance is a tennis geek. I didn’t even know there was such a thing.

Can’t wait. The Roddick match is on tonight.

Two tennis geeks? Geez, looks like I’m shuttin’ off my Tivo-ed auto race and watching tennis today. There must be something to it. It’s better than baseball, right? (shudder)

I came to this thread thinking you’d all be slamming FBN for showing tennis, but instead, we have tennis geeks!
BTW, our three liberal tennis fans will be happy to hear that they’re in good company – Sean Hannity just stated, the other night, that he was a big tennis fan!

I LOVE baseball.

“Sean Hannity just stated, the other night, that he was a big tennis fan!”
That is surprising since it’s not a sport that Americans dominate in. Anymore at least.

I’m not sure I quite qualify as a tennis geek yet…or a liberal, for that matter.
August 31, 2009 at 1:07 pm
How about a liberal geek?
August 31, 2009 at 1:10 pm
You’re killin’ me, Laura. What else is new?
August 31, 2009 at 1:12 pm
Missy, I think repubs and dems are a bunch of crooks and pedophiles. So, calling me liberal isn’t very factual!
Speaking of facts — Has Mr. Hannity EVER mentioned tennis prior to the aforementioned agreement between TTC/FBN?
I’d be willing to bet he’s just shilling.
August 31, 2009 at 1:53 pm
I’ll take that bet. How much you wanna wager?
I heard Hannity mention that on his radio show well over a year ago.
August 31, 2009 at 1:54 pm
BigRed, what exactly did he say? Do you have a quote?
August 31, 2009 at 1:57 pm
From a year ago, Red. Got that one on ya?
August 31, 2009 at 1:58 pm
Wow, we’re debating whether Hannity really likes tennis or not. I guess it’s something to talk about…
August 31, 2009 at 2:31 pm
Yes, let me pull out the exact quote of something I heard him say on the radio well over a year ago, while I was driving.
Good grief.
He has mentioned he enjoys tennis on his show before. I remember hearing it. I believe he mentioned he was trying to teach a nephew/niece how to play.
I have no reason to lie.
August 31, 2009 at 2:38 pm
I’ve been watching tennis channel for the last hour and no updates from FBN…
August 31, 2009 at 2:39 pm
I have no reason to lie.
Dude, I’ve got dozens…
August 31, 2009 at 2:41 pm
Terance, a few months ago, I remember Hannity state that he spends his weekends watching his kids play tennis.
August 31, 2009 at 2:45 pm
Never said you were lying, BigRed.

FBN Update came at 7 PM ET sharp.
