Major Garrett Speaks on “The Feud”
The Shorenstein Center on the Press, Politics, and Public Policy had FNC’s Major Garrett speak a few days ago…(via J$)
The feud concerns a statement from White House communications director Anita Dunn about Fox News. Garrett said it puts him in an uncomfortable position “as a journalist … and as a person.” “I feel the weight of this on my shoulders perpetually,” he said, “and it makes my job harder.” He says there is still a “wall … a veil” that obstructs his job as a “simple journalist.” Yet Garrett says he doesn’t need White House endorsement; in journalism, “everything is accountable on a daily basis” and on television, “on an hour-to-hour basis.”

The FOX journalists are absolute professionals. Major Garrett does an outstanding job as White House correspondent. If the Obama administration wants to act like 2 year olds because they can’t take HONEST, ACCURATE reporting that happens to make them look bad, then perhaps they should rethink their approach to dealing with FOX. It appears to me that the Obama administration does not know the difference between the FOX journalists and the FOX commentators. Once they bother to learn the difference, they might see things as they are. HERE’S A CLUE: O’Reilly, Hannity and Beck are COMMENTATORS …. who I hope will continue to keep the spotlight on the off the wall and disgraceful appointments of Team Obama. Perhaps Team Obama should put Anita Dunn on a slow boat to China where she belongs !!!

Outside of Foxfanworld let me tell you how Bush Daddy’s quote translates. “I hate the namecalling! Please stop the namecalling! It’s totally out of control! Excuse me while I namecall Maddow & Olbermann”. In the reality-based world we call that being a hypocrite. Sure it wins him brownie points with the GOP faithful and the Fox fans but in the real world? The comment is being played as a joke, and indeed it is both laughable and pathetic.
