My late great Uncle Blackie landed on Omaha Beach in a tank. It got stuck in high waters and then shot up once it got onshore. He was trapped with his dead buddies for about 3 days before they secured things.
Horribl beyond belief.
Somewhere he and his buddies are laughing with each other and are in peace.
I want to believe it and that’s good enough for me.
I would like to say thank you to all our brave men and woman who serve this country. In particular, at this time, the victims of Ft. Hood, and all those who ran towards them as they were being attacked.
Alright, while I might tend to agree with Chuck Norris on global warming and government-run healthcare, do I really want to hear it from him? Especially when he has such poor judgment regarding hair-color?
Key officials at the Army’s Walter Reed Medical Center held a series of meetings starting in Spring 2008 (2008) where they, among other concerns, asked themselves whether Nidal Hasan, then stationed at the center, was “psychotic”.
More: Put it this way,” says one official familiar with the conversations that took place. “Everybody felt that if you were deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan, you would not want Nidal Hasan in your foxhole.”
Steve, I’m starting to agree with the PC police on this one. Hasan went out of his way to alert the military that some Muslims were having trouble fighting in Muslim territories…and said it in a way that should have alerted them that he might be one of those Muslims. But we can’t discriminate against Islam, can we?
I don’t know what to say about Major Hasan. For one I’m really ticked off that an American physician could do such a heinous thing. I’m equally ticked off that not one of those “key officials” at Walter Reed (most, I understand, also have an “M.D.” after their names) jumped up and down to get that guy removed from all duties as a doc.
Un-freakin’ believable – and there’s much more colourful metaphors I want to use about it. Used to be that one needed a deep passion to get into and through medical school. Apparently not so much any more.
Bye Lou! I’m sure he’ll be on FNC or FBN shortly. Imus, Dobbs, Hannity, Orally, & Glenn Beck. Quite the racist lineup they got going over there. Even without Dobbs.
Best comment from the NY Times link:
“He’s a much better fit at Fox…where concepts like impartiality and rational thinking are mocked. Plus now Hannity and O’Reilly can interview him about those liberal bullets that hit his house!”
“to see what is in front of one’s nose needs a constant struggle.”
My hunch is Goldberg is taking a shot at bit of a shot at Andrew Sullivan who has that saying on the masthead of his blog.
Sullivan was one of the leading voices denouncing the political right for, as he saw it, overall culpability in the Tiller and Holocaust Museum shootings. Currently, he’s exerting great energy trying to determine whether radical Islam played a role in the Ft. Hood tragedy.
Yup, Shawn… anyone who isn’t a Liberal or (at the very least) a Democrat is a racist. Sure, a bunch of people on the left have said, and continue to say really offensive and racist things, but it’s best not to think or remember those. Nope, just best to ascribe racism to people you disagree with politically.
Sure it sets back actual claims of racism, and is offensive to those who’ve suffered through genuine racist attacks… but the ends justify the means, and if that’s what it takes to put someone down who doesn’t think like a left-winger… well, so be it.
Ah… what fun it must be to have no ethics at all… right Shawny?

As with 9/11 (on a obviously much smaller scale), all kinds of alarms were going off and people missed them. Or didn’t know what to do with them.

No surprise: Lou Dobbs is leaving CNN.
Big surprise: Effective immediately – as in tonight.

That Orwell was pretty swift, wasn’t he?

Yeah, he’s engaged in an Orwellian struggle.
