CNN.com ends live anchored newscasts…
The rumors were true. WebNewser has an internal note from Senior Vice President KC Estenson to staff detailing that CNN.com will stop live anchored newscasts…
CNN.com Live is shutting down its anchor-driven newscasts as of tomorrow.
WebNewser has learned Reggie Aqui, Nicole Lapin, Naamua Delaney and Melissa Long, the four primary anchors of CNN.com Live, are being let go as are several production staffers.

That was quick! CNN already yanked Melissa Long’s bio. Anyway, I checked out the cache and don’t think she’ll have a hard time finding another line of work if need be.
Long earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism and policy studies from Syracuse University, graduating magna cum laude, and earned a master’s of business administration from the University of Rochester.

I liked Nichole Lapin. I wouldn’t mind FNC picking up her. A few contracts will be up in a few months. She’d be a nice addition if they decide to pass one one or two.
Interesting that CNN is already dumping that. FNC’s “strategy room” isn’t getting many viewers at all. What is it from 9-5 and they only get 28,000 viewers a day. Some of those might watch 5 minutes or less. And that’s the total for 8 hours of programming.

I really like Reggie Aqui.
Yum-OH!

I have no idea how these web shows make any money. The Fox web shows have to simply ride the back of the news channel and not make much at all. There’s little to no advertising. And they have so much ‘talent’ in comparison that it boggles me how they make money.
That, and the fact that those shows are so TERRIBLE! Those FNC streaming shows are just so bad. The only time they’re ever good is when they let Shep on and he just goes on a roll without any strings attached. His web-bits are awesome!

I’ve never understood why they just didn’t live-stream what they were putting out on the air.
