Poor Sports…

Gawker’s Adrian Chen writes about FNC sending a bunch of takedown notices to YouTube regarding the News1News channel. Somewhere Johnny Dollar is wondering if he’ll be next…

But today, it appears that Fox News determined it was time to close this one-stop Liberal blog fodder shop: They sent more than 150 DMCA takedown notices to YouTube regarding Fox News clips on the News1News channel, said the channel’s proprietor, John. (John, a doctor living in Washington, DC, didn’t want his last name used.) This put the channel well over YouTube’s controversial “three-strike” copyright violation limit. News1News was shut down, and John was inundated with emails from caffeine-addled bloggers asking, frantically, “what happened!?”

  1. Hey, I hope I’m not next! But I’m not shedding any tears for this guy after he took a video I did, downloaded it, then re-uploaded with his logo as if it were his own. Kind of bad form, IMHO.

  2. Hey, $… didn’t MSNBC take down a bunch of the KO videos recently?

I noticed quit a few OW vids no longer work. I wonder if there was a Gawker story about that…

  3. Years of Olbermann Watch videos were purged by youtube because somebody filed a complaint. I don’t know if it was MSNBC that filed but the net effect was to wipe out years of video uploads.

  4. Well this is what is happening over at youtube. Fox News is enforcing copyrights. Conservative Nation and Glenn Beck Daily clips were banned off youtube, as well. Conservative News Media deleted videos before anything could get banned.

The other thing is people flagging after youtube banned the news1 news account. But actually some people were unhappy after account posting Michael Savage’s stuff got banned. So since that happened recently people were flagging liberal accounts.

Joe Seals commented over at the gawker post about how unhappy he was. Joe owned the conservative nation account.
