Update: Ratigan tweets that he’ll apologize for losing his temper…

Will apologize for losing temper. Won’t apologize for challenging lies and misinformation. USA needs apology for destructive false solutions

  1. This guy almost takes douchebaggery to an art form, but Olbermann already has the market cornered on that.

  2. Not the most dignified performance I’ve ever seen, but he’s right…and right to be pissed off about what this stupid health care bill is turning into.

  3. Anybody would and should yell when a Dem Drone starts reciting the kool aid mantra.Really these types of interviews never bring real answers only rhetoric and lockstep ideology.Wasseman shultz a with her trendy hyphenated name is just another mouthpiece.

  4. Hyphenated names were trendy 30-years ago, but be that as it may, she was droning. He was absolutely right. They’re creating another government-sanctioned monopoly, and this’ll work out about as well as the cable companies.

  5. spd: She never got a chance to drone talking points. The clip runs 3:46 seconds; shes speaks for less than :35 seconds mostly asking politely to be heard.
A guest giving talking points is no excuse for boorish behavior by a host or other guest. That’s why they are on the show in the first place. If there were no talking points or spin there would be no political cable news shows as we know them.
By the way there is an another answer to the question that Dylan asked that is just as good as the one he gives and that is that stock market investors are betting health care reform will fail and health insurance companies will profit by its failure.

  6. Ratigan tweets he will apologize for losing temper but not for challenging DWS views.
MSNBC must be getting some really negative feedback for an a– like Ratigan to even go that far.

  7. He could have handled himself better, for sure, but he’s been around long enough to know when he’s about to be fed the standard non-answer answer. And he’s right about why the stocks have risen.

I don’t begrudge the insurance industry its profits, but this will be entirely on the backs of average Americans. The customer base will grow by force of law while the industry’s exposure will become more limited through the inevitable rationing that results from government-mandated lowering of pay-outs. Those whose only needs are for routine healthcare will think it the best thing ever… but those who require the time-consuming and expensive care will be screwed.

This is a bad idea and people will suffer – which is all I really care about. Kill the bill.

  8. Hell hath fozen over. Agreed, Al.

  9. An apology is good. It is rather bad form to speak over the guests, even if I happen to agree with you.

  10. Debbie Hyphenated-Name is typically an obnoxious guests (to conservatives, anyway), and she really didn’t answer his question this time. True, she’s NOT a stock analyst, but she should know the impact of her actions on various aspects of the economy. That’s her job!

  11. Why is KO’s wonderboy Davy Shuster the only one who gets suspended for stunts like this?..Chrissy Mathews dose this all the time and is never made to apologize out side of his smirking “apology”when he called our troops the”enemy camp”.

  12. bushleaguer Says:

Ratigan needs to chill out and be told to be more respectful to guests. He was just as rude when he had the CEO of the Chamber of Commerce on and I remember him going after Betsy McCaughey pretty hard. This episode should come as no surprise.

Ratigan is smart and has good points to make, but he needs to stop with the speeches during interviews and just generally dial it down a bit. A tough interview is good, but he comes off looking real bad.

  13. Mlong, you’re delusional. There was nothing ‘smirking’ about “Chrissy’s” apology. Hack.
