Sanchez vs. Ensign…
This afternoon CNN’s Rick Sanchez asked quite a few pointed questions for Senator John Ensign that the Senator maybe wasn’t expecting. TPM’s Josh Marshall has the video. Fair game? or ambush interview?

Lots of pointed questions. No answers. A complete stonewall.
I imagine Senator Ensign will only be appearing on FNC from now on, where hard ethical questions of Republicans is never a problem.

I suppose it was an ambush of sorts, but so what?
A couple/three years ago while in the middle of his IRS problems, Jessie Jackson was being interviewed on Bill O’Reilly’s show about those kids accused of a crime in Louisiana. Many letters to the show criticised O’Reilly for not cornering Jackson on those issues and O’Reilly answered something like, “There were no rules agreed to before the interview, but I had the man on to talk about [such and such}. I can’t get a guest on under the pretence of one subject and then throw this other stuff at him. If I did that the guests would never come on.”
So from that perspective Sanchez’s interview was an ambush. But unlike Jessie Jackson, John Ensign is a sitting US Senator. Close, but I call it “fair game”. And stonewalling is a learned talent of all politicians.

Screw that “Christian” sleazeball. Spitzer took the heat and quit his job. Now he’s on cable commentating while he attempts to rebuild his carrer. What has Ensign given up besides a girlfriend? If he’s going to pretend nothing happened and just keep cruising, he should expect a journalist with some brass to question the game he’s playing.

I guess the difference would be that Governor Spitzer committed a crime and resigned under threat of impeachment.
Not sure why you felt the need to write “Christian” with the quote marks. Being without serious flaws and scandal is not a prerequisite for Christianity; in fact, acknowledgement of the opposite is true.
I am a Christian and no quote marks are needed. And the day I go without some sort of wrongful word or act will be the day after I take my last breath.

Al, I’ve heard a lot about the C Street House, and their particular version of “we’re above the rules” Christianity deserves the quote marks.

Hey Al, let’s do a “nevermind” on that one. Politics on a cable news blog is one thing; religion is a bad idea all the way around. Consider my statements retracted. Peace.

Did you say something, joe? Forgive me, I wasn’t paying attention. ‘Tis a shame not all disagreements can be settled on a ice hockey rink, eh?

Big sticks and sharp blades? You win, ’cause I forfeit!

Not us, silly man. I was thinking something more like Ensign and Spitzer going up aganst Sanchez & O’Reilly. You and me can watch.

“Hit And Run” Sanchez talking about ethics,..HA!!..Ensign should said..”At least I didn’t hit and kill a guy while I was drunk then used my family’s wealth to buy my way out of trouble for it.”
