Looks like MSNBC has made some changes to their graphics…market indexes have moved to the top bar, lower thirds are flipped (topic on the left, names & additional info on the right), and the ticker font appears larger.
I’ve discovered the secret of FNC’s success. It’s the way they say “Fox News”. They all do it the same way: Fox News; barked out like a drill sargent. It’s got a killer punch. Try that with MSNBC. Just not the same..
What’s the point of an “All Star Panel” on Special Report consisting of 3 conservatives taking turns bashing the President’s policies? If there’s no opposing view, why not use one person giving a commentary?
Usually it’s Steve Hayes, Krauthammer, and a liberal voice, which is better balance than when Mort is there. Mort’s not a conservative; he’s liberal on some issues and I think a genuine centrist (there aren’t many left!). When Mort’s on the panel I agree replacing say Hayes with Mara or Juan would make for better balance.
They need to at least make a token effort at balance. Whether FNC likes it or not, they’re part of the mainstream now, and non-conservatives watch. Especially when hockey is on MSNBC..
Great explanation by George Will of the Palin phenomenon and the press:
Today’s saturation journalism, mesmerized by presidential politics and ravenous for material, requires a steady stream of political novelties. In that role, Palin is united with the media in a relationship of mutual loathing. This is not her fault. But neither is it her validation.”
Will states in three of four sentences what would take me 1,000 words. And I’d still muddle it up.

Without Imus, RFD-TV isn’t looking too good to Dish:

Beck’s dog barking scene on tonight’s show will be a classic. Still laughing an hour later.

Dr. BW enjoys it the most when Hayes in on, because she secretly (well, not so secret any more) has a crush on him.

Marvelous.

You’re right, Steve. That was brilliant.
