Where is the MSM on Dan Rather’s “Watermelon” comment about Obama? Chris Matthew had to interrupt Ran Rather because he knew he stepped in a huge landmine.

(Turn the volume up to hear the comment)

“But he couldn’t sell watermelons if it, you gave him the state troopers to flag down the traffic.”

If Rush or Beck had said this the MSM would be all over it

Well the MSM pretty much let Harry Reid get away with his remarks about Obama and he’s the Majority leader in the Senate so I’m betting they’ll let rather get away with this.

  3. I’m sure FNC will give it wall to wall coverage leaving the MSM to cover the remaining less important news. :-)

  4. When I’m not so tired I’ll check his math:

  5. Gee Jeffery Anderson in Investors Business Daily (IBD). I amazed the Dems aren’t responsible for all the deficit and all the debt to boot. :-)

  6. ^ Instead of refuting the claim you go after the one making it. But is he wrong?

  7. Dan Rather really said that? I find that hard t believe.

  8. Al: It’s impossible to disprove or prove this stuff. It’s all in the eye of the beholder. If it were a article in “The Nation” saying the deficit was 4/5 on Bush you would probably say the article was biased because its source was liberal. The IBD makes the Weekly Standard look like the communist manifesto. The only statistician I trust is Nate Silver.
But go ahead and knock yourself out there are lots on here who will be happy to believe whatever BS is out there as long as it bashes Obama.

  9. Doesn’t matter who it comes from or their politics. His thesis is about deficits and is stated as a fact that can be either proved or disproved.

The article also does not bash President Obama. He simply shows spending history on Democratic vs. Republican Congresses using the same number of years with same-party or opposite-party in the White House.

  10. ^ This is the same “newspaper” that said Steven Hawking wouldn’t have survived in the UK because the NHS gave such poor care. :-) But like I said, knock yourself out.

  11. True, that was dumb – the facts didn’t add up. National Enquirer gets it right sometimes… or even the New York Times is right occasionally.
