I love it when politicians say ‘I take full responsibility’. What the hell does that mean? Unless you’re stepping down or paying a visible price, it means nothing. It’s a meaningless statement to make you look good. Period.
Hang Blumenthal out to dry …. I wonder how the VIETNAM VETS feel about his FIVE, count’em FIVE deferments to avoid combat, then enlisting in the reserves drawing “Toys for Tots” duty. Semper Fi – I think not. What a fraud. It’s sad to see him use his military friends like he did today …. and to do that presser at a VFW hall …. this man has no shame. I’d rather have Dodd than this looser! I encourage the press to DIG DEEPER – if he did this, then there is plenty more to find.
I hope this keeps happening until every last ‘abstinence only’ moron in Congress is out of office. You wanna run on your religion? Fine. Have a little fun between consenting adults? I don’t give a crap; that’s between you, your spouse and your God. But STOP pushing the clearly ludicrous notion that ‘abstinence only education’ is a worthy tactic in preventing pregnancy among teens. If you can’t keep that thing in your pants at your age, do you really expect your kids to?
It’s too bad Joe must only watch MSLSD for his news. He is constantly not up on the reality of things. I mean, even left leaning ABC News had this story that ABSTINENCE ONLY IS WORKING!
That’s a lovely story, Star. “Focused on abstinence” is not the same as “abstinence only”. A focus on “not doing it”, with education about pregnancy and STD prevention if you do, makes sense. Until you can prove otherwise, I’ll have a hard time believing those kids got “abstinence only”.
Let me get this straight. Ted Turner thinks (I know; who cares) that God was behind the Gulf oil spill. To derail future oil drilling. So…God mucked-up the Gulf of Mexico in order to keep us from drilling, and possibly..I don’t know..mucking-up the Gulf of Mexico? Lithium must be good stuff..
Zero. That’s the number of times publicly declaring a disaster/catastrophe “God’s will” has been a good idea. It’s right up there with “God told me..”.
“Ted Turner thinks (I know; who cares) that God was behind the Gulf oil spill. To derail future oil drilling. ”
Someone should remind Ted(and other anti-drilling Libs)that his good buddies in Cuba along with China are going to drill in the Gulf whether we do or not..dose anyone really have faith that their drilling platforms will be safer than ours?
It’s sad, really. The man’s a genius, without whom we’d be pickin’ our noses on a totally different blog right now. Too bad ‘genius’ and ‘nuts’ are so closely related. And not even, in this case, in an amusing way.
I love this guy. ‘Illegal immigration is down, not up’. Yeah, Dexter, because the economy sucks, not because of anything that the government is doing. Keep killing the economy like you are, and they’ll stop coming entirely.
Among the films it will be showing are The Thomas Crown Affair, Wall Street, The Player and The Last Days of Lehman Brothers.
Although, I didn’t think they would play a “Fox” movie. Wall Street. I do hope they get “Barbarians At The Gate” in the mix. That’s a good movie from HBO.
But of course the usual ones who shill for CNBC and attack FBN, this still won’t change a thing for them because …..
Of course, I’m not attacking CNBC over this. It’s smart. Its the hypocrites that I mock. The ones who will once again act like its no big deal. But they whine every chance they can about FBN.

This Blumenthal press conference is an embarrassing spectacle. They need to muzzle the idiot that keeps going ‘oorah’.

– Blumenthal –
He’s a Democrat running for Chris Dodd’s seat in a bad year for Dems. If the NYT is going after him, that’s about all I need to know.

I’m sure tens of people were excitedly awaiting to hear from the intellectual juggernaut that is Ted Turner.

This is crap, and Chris Mathews should take a closer look at The NYT doing a hit a piece for Linda McMahon before continuing to bash Blumenthal.

I hear Medtronics is moving some of its Texas-based surgical instrument manufacturing to Puerto Rico for tax and wage savings.
