In Your Face MSNBC….
Check out what’s been running on FNC’s crawl tonight…
State Media? MSNBC anchor Mika Brzeznski says she’s “been working with the White House” on a “file” containing talking points for the Gulf oil spill crisis…Brzeznski, co-anchor of “Morning Joe, says the collaboration is in response to former NYC Mayor Rudy Giulliani appearing on the show and “spewing out a whole bunch of nothing” about the Obama Admin’s response…Brzeznski was angered by Giulliani’s assertion that Pres Obama has not made an effort to meet with oil industry officials
Well we at least know that FNC is paying attention to the blogs. Anyone care to wager whether this shows up on Fox and Friends tomorrow?

I GUARANTEE it will show up on at least one program on FNC tomorrow, including the supposed media watchdog show, Fox News Watch, this coming week. They know what they’re doing, and they know they want to make a scandal out of short soundbites. It’s such a predictable and childish style of reporting, if you want to call it that. Watch Fox put up the breaking news alert, too, when they report on this. It’s gonna be classic FNC.

Yeah, well if Mika was just the White House stenographer here and uncritically accepted and repeated their claims, she should be criticized. She’s a straight news reporter and not an opinion journalist over there (even though, as we’ve discussed, the lines have been largely erased). Verify the stuff.
If it turns out she verified (or tried to) their assertions, she’s in the clear.

Mika is not a straight news reporter. Not anymore. She’s done the Olbermann leap into the world of punditry; journalism rep permanently tarnished.

Mika is not a straight news reporter.
Then it’s much ado about very little. I thought she was still on the side of the angels.
Had a Fox pundit done it, MSNBC would have played it up. Or CNN, then MSNBC and Fox would have hyped it.
The world of cable network news.

How so? The story was on Newsbusters (which they love) not to mention Drudge way early today had linked to a story about it (Real Clear Politics).

Valerie Jarret and others at the white house has called or text Mika durning the 3 hour show many times in tha past to correct a comment or statement made by some source.
It should not come as a shock that msnbc is a very large mouth piece for Obama and the democrats.
joe don’t even resist hardly anymore. The show should be named morring round table with liberals and a rhino.

Are you forgetting when all of them went ape – - – - over supposedly Scott McClellan was giving Hannity “talking points”….back in 2008?

I think FOX is just fighting back against something Joe had said this morning:
If you’d wanna win, seriously, Roger Ailes, everybody goes who runs the Republican–Roger Ailes is the most powerful voice in the Republican Party. He has set up something that — it is the only organizing institution for the GOP because everybody’s let Republicans down in Washington DC. It’s Roger.”
There are no “talking points”. Mika had asked who the adminstration had met with regarding the Oil Spill. They gave her a list of people and dates.
If you actually believe that is state media—it is only because you choose to by disregarding the facts.
There really is no story here. If FOX and Friends want to give attention to a show that has 1/3 its ratings…Go for it!
Forewarning, Joe Scarborough will absolutely skewer FOX if they continuously try to push this story.

-White House calling to correct-
I don’t see that as a problem. President Reagan, himself, called C-Span’s Brian Lamb while on the air to correct what he perceived to be a misrepresentation. As for Mika, at least she disclosed her information source.
Nothing wrong with FNC or CNN taking jabs about it, either. That’s the game.

Whooptie friggin’ doo. Outside of his 92 viewers, who else cares about Scarborino?

@lonestar
I enjoy the fact you surrender to the notion that Joe can single-handily smack down Dumb, Dumber and their sister at Fox and Friends.
An a$$ whooping is an a$$ whooping.
Get over yourself—-and your John Edwards-fidelity analogy still doesn’t add up to the Scott Mcclellan issue.

“It should not come as a shock that msnbc is a very large mouth piece for Obama and the democrats.”
Right, because MSNBC is really a “mouthpiece” for Obama when the network’s top 3 anchors (Olbermann, Matthews, Maddow), among others, scold Obama for his oval office speech and lashed out at the him and democrats for NOT including the public option in the health care bill. But yes, using your wonderful circular logic, they are certainly Obama lovers, aren’t they? Where do you people get this stuff from?
I swear, particularly you little ouchboy, seem to have this Beck-like strategy where you think if you say something, regardless of how false and outrageous it is, as long as you repeat it again and again, that it MUST be true. You don’t care about the facts… just rinse and repeat the same talking points all the time.
June 22, 2010 at 4:06 am
Al has it right. Reporters, Hosts and pundits all talk to politicians all the time. Media gets & uses talking points at times as well; liberal media from the Dems conservative media from the Repubs. Lots of fake outrage here.
June 22, 2010 at 4:29 am
This from the network whose prime time host claimed “it is my job to ensure that this President succeeds”? Please, NBC/MSNBC is the national barak channel. From the bowing Brian to the faux con Joe, their whole job is to protect and defend Obama. And stop with the argument that even MSNBC went after Obama for his ridiculous WH speech…..at that point, even they knew their cow-towing would be laughed at.
June 22, 2010 at 6:10 am
And FNC’s & your job is to disparage the POTUS every day all the time. Your very good at it BTW.
June 22, 2010 at 7:49 am
And FNC’s & your job is to disparage the POTUS every day all the time.
MSNBC pioneered that during the 8 years of Bush’s presidency. Stop acting like a little old lady with the vapors.
At least nobody on FNC is going around screeching about various people being The Worst Person In The World, every single freaking day.
June 22, 2010 at 11:10 am
The only time Crissy, Olby and Rachel are critical of Obama is when Obama didn,t lean over far enough to kiss their butts. LITTLE ouchboy is not asking you are anybody to agree with me. I have my opinions as you have yours. in my mind you take this stuff to seriously.
I am a conservative, so i want have the same views that you seem to have, so get over it, you will not convert me ,nor do i exspect to convert you. I do this because its fun, not to be taken seriously.
