Markos Moulitsas “blacklisted” from MSNBC?

Oy…a boring day just got interesting…Markos Moulitsas blogs on Daily Kos about getting backlisted from MSNBC because of a twitter dustup he had with Joe Scarborough. This can’t please Keith Olbermann any. Kos includes an email from Phil Griffin in his post…

I’ve criticized Chris Matthews before, sometimes harshly, and it never led to me being banned. This was not about criticizing some random MSNBC host, but about criticizing the network’s token conservative, a man who wilts in the face of the awesome power of Twitter and its 140-character limit. Morning Joe happens to be Griffin’s pet project at MSNBC. He’s staked his career on it, and as such, lets Scarborough call the shots — to the point of having its least successful host dictate the guest list of its most successful one.

Look, it’s been good for Daily Kos to have me on, but it’s not my favorite medium, I’m often uncomfortable, and part of me would be grateful if I never had to do a TV spot again. I did as much MSNBC as I did because I like and respect Keith Olbermann and Ed Schultz. If they decided they didn’t want me on anymore, I’d be perfectly okay with that. However, I do think it’s noteworthy when I’ve been booted from the network because of a Scarborough temper tantrum.

To state the obvious (I’m particularly good on these occasions): Harshly criticizing someone is one thing; suggesting that someone murdered another person is quite another.

But it is interesting (obvious statement #2) that Mr. Olbermann is still allowed to write on and promote the site.

    I’ll stop at two.

man i don’t know the truth but ck. around the web — from what i hear joe got this dead and buried and thought he left it behind him when he left congress and florida for the big lights– people occasionally bring this up and i’ve heard he threatens to sue and stuff and they back off– she was alone in the office to meet some couple that joe had made an appt. with but he left town the day before and they found her when they arrived for the appt. the next day– supposedly “fell” and hit her head or some such nonsense– the rest is history with joe slogging it thru that 10pm show until he popped morning mika and that’s where we’re at– interesting if improbable tie-ins–

  4. So Markos Moulitsas can’t tolerate even one token Republican on MSNBC.

He wants even token conservatism purged from MSNBC.

I don’t think appearing on a cable news outlet means you get to program the network.

  5. As much as I find JS an arrogant a**h*** I have to go with him on this. The story is old news and has as much relevance as the Whitewater crap the far right still spews at the Clintons.
Argue your case on the facts not old rumors of scandal.
I don’t think he’ll be missed much as he was not a regular like when Richard Wolfe was banned for awhile.

Yeah, he sat next to Sanchez on a cross country bus trip and had to listen to Sanchez explain volcanoes to him. For four days straight.

The guy just gave up living.

Yes he did…glad you find That funny.

As Markos he should have been banned after making that screw then remark when 4 civilian contractors were killed in Iraq and has their bodies hung over bridge.

do not like markos either, just do not agree with him politically at all but he is right on this one, msnbc caters to scarborough, token conservative? he is no conservative anymore , and to ban markos that is a little overboard.

Gotta love the sour grapes he displays with his “part of me would be grateful if I never had to do a TV spot again” spiel.
Whether or not he enjoyed being on tv, his appearances were great advertising for his website. If I recall correctly, he said as much when O’Reilly was going after DailyKos.

I think Scarborough has a right to protest giving this guy a forum if Moulitsas has been pushing the dead intern thing. Look what happened to Donny Deutsch.
