On the Tuesday edition of “America Live” on Fox News, Megyn Kelly blasted Kirsten Powers for being unprepared and uninformed when Kirsten appeared on a panel discussion with Andrea Tantaros. It turned into a full blown “CAT FIGHT” that lasted almost 5 minutes in which Tantaros never appeared on camera. The discussion ended with Kelly telling Powers if she ever appears on her show again she should do her homework and know the facts. My opinion – because Powers did not agree with an “exclusive” interview Kelly recently had regarding the New Black Power Party investigation into voter intimidation she was made to look like she was an idiot by Kelly. Kelly should be suspended for a week or so for blasting without cause a Fox News contributor (Powers). Until Kelly offers and apology to Powers, I’m boycotting Kelly’s show. KELLY came off worse than talk-radio idiot MICHAEL SAVAGE. Shame on Kelly !!!
biznews, I understand why you are boycotting, but the attention that argument got has been huge, and it will undoubtedly help increase the visibility of Kelly’s show and boost her ratings and profile.
It may have been undignified, but it has proved to be a publicity bonanza.
I think Kelly used that episode to try and generate attention from msnbc and cnn. the two cable channels have not covered the ordeal of the black panthers.
Ed Schultz, Keith Olbermann, and Cris Mathews loves to show anything that fox does from a misspelled or pronounced word or disagreement between those on fox, and then make personal attacks.
I don,t watch msnbc hardly anymore, but i’am thinking that msnbc has not even mentioned anything about the black panthers, or Kelly and kirsten’s eposode. Such hypocrites:
Msnbc was quick to cover the naacp against the tea party thou, who would have thought?
NAACP, lovin’ that quest for relevance. Could they be any more nakedly obvious? ‘Let’s attach our name to the Tea Party, and maybe someone will notice us.’
laura (can u ck. with joe to see if it’s ok if i talk with u?)– i think the NAACP is upset because The New Black Panther Party is trumping them for Press time– those guys have been irrelevant since the 80′s if not before– i mean, what’s a “colored” person?–
I mentioned this on an earlier post but the thread has moved to here so I’ll repeat it.
I think there is a good chance that Megyn Kelly will walk back her tirade from yesterday’s show on todays show as it has gotten her a good deal of negative feedback that it made her look like a bit of a bully.
I expect it will be the usual non apology apology: ‘I’m sorry if my comments offended anyone’ etc.
We will see.
Laura, are you serious about Bristol and Levi?! Wow. Just wow. That’s a bit of totally unexpected fluff…
Because I didn’t have a chance to weigh in on the Mel Gibson thread yesterday, I’ll do so here. As someone who has experienced domestic violence firsthand and lived to see another day, some of the comments on the thread show how casually some people still regard that CRIME.
That being said, I would hate to condemn someone without verification that the evidence was not “doctored”… but I think that it has been obvious for some time that there is something very “wrong” about Mel Gibson – he just seems to have gone off the deep end, regardless of whether or not he is guilty of this particular episode. Maybe there is a medical reason, but I won’t speculate….
Yes, I did get a good laugh from that, but in a “good for them” kind of way. I’m still a little queasy about them marrying at such a young age, but they already have a child, so if they feel ready..all blessings to them.
I’d be interested to know how much Todd had to do with Levi getting his s**t together. I’ve always gotten the vibe that they communicate well (just a feeling, don’t ask me why), and that Mr. Palin is the kind of guy that would say, “Ok kid, if you’re done being an idiot, let’s talk.”
Meggie, I’m sorry to hear about your past. I was around it as a kid, and that crime is scary, serious business. I hope Gibson gets jail time and counseling. He claims to be a recovering alcoholic, but I don’t see much “recovery” going on there. “Not drinking” isn’t enough; you’re supposed to get better.
In spite of my disdain for the idiot, I’m not convinced his race-baiting constitutes actual racism, because it seems like a show intended to feed his audience. What I am convinced of is, he’s a jerk.
Limbaugh’s doing the exact same thing he did when Harry Reid noted that Obama can “drop the Negro dialect”. By repeating the offending phrase (slightly tweaked, of course), he can show that these same MSM outlets who ARE OUTRAGED about such language were silent when liberals were saying the exact same thing.
Congratulations, joeremi: you fell for it hook, line, and sinker.
My point – which I guess I should have stipulated – is that someone’s death is not a good time for references to race. It’s disrespectful and unseemly.
— But then you have comments like “that cracker made a lot of African-Americans millionaires,” and, “at the same time, he fired a lot of white guys.” Obviously, that doesn’t exactly jibe with Limbaugh’s theories of how wealth distribution in society should work —
Unlike liberals, Rush believes that wealth should be earned, not distributed.
Inherent in that statement is the basic, proof-free-assumption that Rush is a racist, who doesn’t think that blacks should have wealth. That is total bullsh!t, and comes from the morally-superior bigotry for which the left is increasingly-well-known.
Sorry Joeremi but you fell for the trap just like Media Matters and Keith Olbermann did. All Rush did was hold the mirror up to liberals. And they didn’t like what they saw.
So let me get this straight. Arizona is basically trying to enforce the Federal Law on Immigration and Holder/Obama want to prosecute them, while at the same time you have sanctuary cities violating Federal Law and Holder/Obama don’t want to prosecute them. It’s all over for his Administration in 2012.
I might clarify that my comment is solely about Rush’s decision to use the phrase ‘cracker’ in relation to the death of a man the day before. It was a crass attempt to respond to the racist idiot who used the term in the New Black Panther video currently in the news, and I thought it was a disrespectful moment to politicize. I’m not getting into the text of the HuffPo piece, and probably should have used a stand-alone clip.
Calling white people “crackers”.
Wasn’t that why Megyn with a “y” Kelly was accusing that a guy from the Black Panther party of being a racist?
Just asking.
It’s interesting how what counts as racism and what is not. When minorities discriminate or make racist comments, it’s tolerable. I would love to see someone do a report on racism within minority groups towards other minority groups. It actually exists.
dig it outman– no one is allowed to side with white folk these days who are not on the side of more reparations for African-Americans or will not admit that Blacks still deserve “special treatment”– i’m so glad u can think for urself and not be intimidated with politically correct garbage that’s going on right now in the United States– hey, how are those “religion of peace” people working out for u over there?– i guess we’re all “crackers”– i’m just sayin’–
^Your kingdom for an ‘edit’ function, eh Outsider?
I grew up in mixed-minority communities, and you don’t wanna know the racism between them. At some point, the whole issue becomes untrackable. Everybody is different from everybody else, and we all have our secret prejudices. Mine is cell-phone-yapping trophy wives in SUVs in Marin County. Sue me..
^just because u don’t want to talk about anything of real relevance joe, doesn’t mean that others, from outside our country, may not– i’d ease off of trying to impress outsider and let the conversation flow– u already gave me a hard time about ur gal laura, isn’t that enough?–
“My gal Laura” is a woman you should show a modicum of respect for when conversing; and that goes for Missy, Meggie, Jerziegirl and any other “gal” that shows up around here. And I’m talking to Outsider, which I intend to continue doing as long as I please.
please tell me how i offended them and i will apologize– i thought they were big girls and i don’t remember “offending” them– did one of them ask u to tell me to tone it down?–
He’s the previous VP; until recently still very much a part of the daily political discourse. He’s had five heart attacks. Isn’t there somebody in the media keeping at least one eye on The Dark Lord’s health? He had heart failure. Last week!
tooncigars – A lot of Muslims are kind people and quite a number of them are good personal friends of mine. I would understand why some Americans would feel a bit uncomfortable but 99% are just like any other Westerner. A lot that I know of don’t wear burqas or even hijabs, they’ve assimilated very well and accept Western values. In fact, a lot of them are conservatives, they oppose high taxes and abortions. There are extremists in every group.
Joe-I’ve seen it personally myself but it may be different from what you’ve seen in the US since the demographics are relatively different between the two countries. It’s hard to explain what we’ve both seen.
Joe – maybe. Quebec is very different from English Canada. I live in the West, totally English. More speak German and Chinese than French.
Laura – I saw that days ago on Michelle Malkin’s site. Quite funny what’s happening in the states and most Canadians are not aware of how unpopular Obama has become.
Joe – The BBC mentioned it also. Not so much in the Canadian press maybe except for the papers but who reads those nowadays.

Sounds like she’ll tease it through the show. If there’s an ‘apology’, it’ll have all the depth and sincerity of ‘let’s do lunch’.
