HOT: Sean Hannity to apologize for calling Al Gore a ‘crazed sex poodle’ for a solid week based on the word of someone trained in relaxation techniques who couldn’t beat a polygraph.
Hot: Backlash against ABC for hiring the uber-biased Christianne as host of This Week.
Hot: Journolist – collusion among media and the DNC proven.
Not: Journolist – media still spiking the story. TVNewser still hasn’t printed anything about it.
HOT: Lawrence O’Donnell’s new show gets name & start date. The name is nothing revolutionary but OK by cable news standards.
HOT: Chuck Roberts retires. notable for a career that was almost without screw-ups. Rare in cable news.
HOT: Liza McGuirk leaves FZ-GPS to helm new Spitzer/Parker show. Good move to put a pro with great rep in charge.
HOT: Christina Amanpour debuts on ‘This Week’. No problems but still has a way to go before she’s as good as Jake Tapper.
HOT: July ratings out. Everyone; except CNBC; has something to crow about and does.
HOT: CNBC; especially ‘Mad Money’ ratings nosedive. No real explanation for the overall drop yet. It’s unlikely they moved to FBN as FOX is not bragging about a ratings boost on FBN.
Mad Money’s losses may be due to people getting tired of the shows shtick. Audiences eventually tire of shows based on gimmicks and this is the most gimmicky of business shows ever.
HOT: Angela McGlowan rejoins FOX after a try at politics in Mississippi. An unknown black women trying for statewide office, as a Republican, in Mississippi was not the surest of gambles. She did however up her political cred and profile, for her FNC gig; which may have been the main reason for the run in the first place.
HOT: Chris Matthews goes after Arizona state rep Rick Murphy on the states immigration law. This is probably the result they wanted when they tried to book Pamela Geller last week.
HOT: Helen Thomas seat at WH may go to AP and not FNC or Bloomburg who would get old AP seat. As well Al Jazeera may get official seat in the room to replace Thomas. Musical chairs at the WHCA.
HOT: Clinton wedding coverage. Not since Princess Di etc.
HOT: Wikileaks coverage. Story with no legs will be forgotten by next week.
HOT: Obama on ‘The View’ coverage. Even conservatives had a hard time getting worked up over this.
NOT HOT: BP oil spill coverage. The story continues to fade as BP continues to spin that the oil leak is fixed. Move along folks, nothing to see here.

NOT: Nobody remembers Rudi Bakhtiar.
And why would they? Aside from her looks she was eminently forgettable. Couldn’t stick at HLN, couldn’t stick at CNN, and couldn’t stick at FNC.
