I watched it on Fox News.
This was one of his better speeches if he was aiming for the center of the country he hit the target. I didn’t have any problems with his speech.
When he called President Bush did he ask to borrow one of his speech writers

Yeah, he hit the right tone and had the right approach. Substantively. E.g, the need to move on but that we’re also standing by just in case. In that order.
But it was like listening to a guy explain a life insurance policy to you. Very dry and businesslike.
A for content, C for delivery.

I think the poll numbers are starting to get to the Dems, the Republicans have a 10 point lead in the generic ballot.
The Restoring Honor Rally also sent a powerful message to the D.C. insiders. I think it’s sinking in just what they are in for….Americans are really tired of indulging the political class, and they are on notice.
They really needed to start this earlier – now people are angry. It doesn’t help that the cable news jockeys are still insulting middle class Americans, like they are some other species of American. Insulting the electorate calling them racist, nazis, kkk, and bigots doesn’t work go figure SARC.

Couldn’t President Obama at least have given President Bush ANY credit for the success of the surge in Iraq? Saying Bush is a nice guy and all is fine, but he could have said Bush was also RIGHT about the surge. And using this speech to throw in stuff about his economic policies was just wrong.

What’s the point in praising Bush for fixing a problem he created in a war Obama opposed?

^oh, i dunno… maybe to show some “class”?– and maybe admit that he was wrrrr…, wwwrrrorr…., wwwwrrrrrooon,– ah forget it–

I am a Bush supporter, and an Obama opposer, but I give POTUS credit. He delivered the right amount of praise for Bush without betraying his own principles. Maddow revealed herself to be politically tone deaf when she lambasted Obama for offering kind words to Bush.
