Scary Weather?
From an emailer who was watching CNN and saw this lower third…
“Big, Scary Storm Threatens East Coast” — Happened during Ali Velshi’s show today.
As opposed to “Small, Timid Storm Threatens East Coast” no doubt. Way to hype the story CNN…

I did not see this. But I was thinking this morning how stupid the CNN update bar is. It says vague information and nothing else. “Mormon Bishop shot” then something totally different. What is the point? Either get rid of it completely or bring back the crawl.

Is CNN trying to scare white people again?

^ Silly, white people don’t watch CNN. Or black people..or brown people..

^ I flipped on CNN last night and got a black screen… well,, I thought it was until the chryon came up. Turns out it was a picture of all the CNN viewers in Texas holding a lighted candle.

The CNN update bar is just a feed of their online story titles. Seems pointless to me.
It’s worse during Rick’s List when all the mindless tweets are displayed.
I find it odd that HLN, once the network with the most information displayed on screen, now has the least. CNN should follow suit.

CNN is getting really strange with their banners these days. First with that Sarah Palin debacle during Beck’s rally, and now threatening a “big, scary” storm? I guess that’s what you do when you lack ratings.

^ Might be something as simple as having too many of the ones who type those things on holiday.

Judging by Fox, I always assume that the newest, dumbest interns are running the chyrons and anything else involving a printed word. It explains so much.

It wasn’t on the news ticker, it was the lower third for the story (or the strap or the chyron or whatever you want to call it).
