CNN = Debates for the 2010 Midterm Election Season

CNN is the place for political debates throughout the midterm election season. The network is partnering with educational institutions and local media outlets to moderate important debates that will better inform local constituents as they make their decision on the upcoming races. More debate announcements to follow.

* On Wednesday, October 13 at 7:30 p.m., lead political anchor Wolf Blitzer will co-host a 90-minute showdown in Delaware between candidates, Chris Coons (D) and Christine O’Donnell (R), vying for Vice President Joe Biden’s former Senate seat. Blitzer will join Delaware public television anchor Nancy Karibjanian at the University of Delaware to co-moderate the debate, parts of which will air nationally on CNN. Aaron Brown Speaks…

And says some things I’ve been saying for a long time now to On Milwaukee’s Tim Curpisin

And cable news?

He’s not exactly enamored with the move toward constant political debate, with ideologues on both sides. He talks of “hundreds” of people who’ve come up to him with the same complaint:

“The thing I don’t like about the news is I don’t hear what I think. It’s always what Ann Coulter thinks or Michael Moore.

Brown has no solutions to make the news better. He understands the business constraints all TV news outlets face.

Former “Backstage” host Barry Nolan – sacked for lashing out over a local award given to Fox News big wig Bill O’Reilly – has lost his $1.2 million lawsuit against CN8 and Comcast.

In a written decision yesterday, U.S. District Court Judge Rya Zobel said Nolan’s agreement with Comcast allowed the company to fire him “without notice, for any reason, or no reason at all.”

“Although one-sided, it is nonetheless valid,” Judge Zobel wrote.
