MSNBC has finally made it official…

THOMAS ROBERTS JOINS MSNBC AS DAYSIDE ANCHOR

NEW YORK, NY—December 20, 2010—Award-winning journalist Thomas Roberts has joined MSNBC as an anchor, effective immediately. Roberts has appeared regularly on MSNBC over the past year, anchoring MSNBC Live as well as serving as a fill-in anchor for “Countdown with Keith Olbermann” and “First Look.” Roberts will continue to anchor various hours of MSNBC’s dayside programming.

“Thomas is a very talented anchor who has impressed all of us over the last year,” said Phil Griffin, President of MSNBC. “With his addition, we’re continuing to build a truly outstanding dayside anchor team.”

Before joining MSNBC in April 2010 as a freelance anchor, Roberts served as a correspondent for CBS News. He also contributed to several entertainment shows including “Entertainment Tonight” and “The Insider.” Prior to that, Roberts was a news anchor for CNN Headline News.

Roberts is an award-winning journalist, having received a 2002 Emmy nomination and a Virginia Associated Press award for his work on the documentary, “Parvo Puppies.” He also received an Edward R. Murrow award in 2001 for a documentary that he produced titled, “When Parents Don’t Pay.”

Roberts is a graduate of McDaniel College (formerly Western Maryland College). He resides in New York City.
