  1. Richard is abnsolutly first class. Ten like him and they could rule the news world.

  2. Lol… poor Richard. God love him… he does his best. It seems like Mitchell has the same issue with anchoring and reading the teleprompter. But, as an overseas correspondent, Engel is certainly awesome. He puts his life on the line and works tirelessly. God speed Mr. Engel.

  3. I just enjoy watching Richard Engel, no matter if he’s out in the field or behind a desk. His tour of Kabul with Rachel Maddow was one of the best MSNBC news features of the year IMHO.

What I’d most love to see would be MSNBC dump Lockup and fill their weekends with issue-based shows. Can you imagine the awesomeness of a weekly foreign news/politics/analysis show hosted by Richard Engel from wherever in the world he happens to be that week?

MSNBC boasts such an incredible array of talent they could easily fill their weekends with “round-up” shows focusing on not only foreign affairs, but also civil rights, environmental issues, the economy, and of course any leftover time would become even more easily filled as the next election gets closer.

    Well, I guess I can dream…

  4. There’s too many good reporters that are like Albert Brooks in Broadcast News. They’re good at their job, they like their job, but they want to sit in that chair…and be mediocre. Or worse. It’s all about having your name and face on the screen. And having pinheads like us make fun of you.
