What’s on your mind?

  1. I read this re Niall Ferguson after he appeared on Morning Joe:

“I expect he will be appearing all over FNC in the very near future; ‘the full Monty’ so to speak. His views give them a storyline and credible spokesperson to attack Obama’s performance.”

How’s that FNC tour coming along? Does anyone know what FNC programs he’s been on? Or does ‘all over’ mean he’s been on every one of them? Enquiring minds want to know! ;)

  2. Good grief, did the CIA and the entire intelligence community of the US government rely solely on one individual to claim that Saddam Hussein had mobile bioweapon labs?

One person? That’s all? We’re spending $40 billion a year for that?

    That can’t be right.

  3. I guess the meme is established. Never mind actual issues, let’s repeatedly question whether Republicans think Obama is a Christian. But only Fox is biased.

  4. The protests in Wisconsin, I’ve heard a lot about it online. But the only mainstream media coverage I’ve seen was on the Rachel Maddow Show last night.

I thought Scott Walker was elected governor, not King.

    F Daytona.

  5. I thought Scott Walker was elected governor, not King.

Yes, you are correct: he’s just the governor; they’re protesting the legislature which is voting on his proposals.

  6. “Rolling Stone corrects Justin Bieber’s quote on abortion.”

And they say that real journalism is dead in America.

When the world ends, cockroaches and sarcasm will somehow survive.

  7. Both sides are keeping this stupid “Obama’s religion” thing alive. The question isn’t “why did half of Luntz’s group call Obama Muslim”. The question is..why the hell did he ask?

One more time people, repeat after me..OBAMA IS NOT A RELIGIOUS MAN.

  8. Hey Andy Marquis: since you don’t live here and don’t know WTF is going on here you should Shut the f**k up!

The citizens of the State of Wisconsin elected all the people that are serving here from the Governor to all the legislators! Scott Walker talked about this issue throughout his whole campaign and he won the campaign. So, this should have come as no surprise to anyone except for the teachers and all the other unions that didn’t actually believe he would take this action.

I live in Madison and schools have been closed for days and parents are fearful of making any statements against what is happening because they are afraid of ramifications against their children once classes do resume.

The Democratic Senators have taken a bus out of state so they don’t have to take a vote on this issue. They are behaving like petulant children. We had a Democrat Governor for 8 years and both the Senate and Assembly had Democrat majorities for the majority of those years. Never ONCE did the Republicans pull this kind of crap.

Educate yourself before you start spouting off!

  9. Jonathan Capehart of the Wash. Post has an item that claims that Al Jazeera hasn’t mentioned Laura Logan’s assault at all. Nothing on it. And nothing on its Arabic website either.

    More here: Link.

    Hmm.

  10. The Bible tells us that belief in Jesus Christ is the only way to eternal life (John 14:6) “…I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me…”.

But 0bama, Oprah, gazillions of others, my own dear sister and many other of my friends and relatives believe that there are many ways to eternal life. So if that’s the case, why would they call themselves Christians, and deny the very words spoken by Christ? And why did Jesus waste his time and suffering dying for our sins?

So on that basis alone I believe 0bama and everyone else I mentioned are not Christians.

As far as his birthplace, I guess it’s Hawaii, because O’Reilly did produce a birth notce from a newpaper from back in the 60s, announcing 0bama’s birth. But it does unnerve me to think that everyone else, in every other aspect of society, has to produce proof of birth, for so many transactions in our daily life. I question how he got this far in life without even once having to show his birth certificate? How did he even get into school? Or get a driver’s license or a passport?

Again, I do think he was born in the U.S. But he’s still a lousy president.

And Boehner, Bachman et al are wise to stay out of the fray. These idiot liberal journalists are trying to distract them from the problems our country are really facing re: the economy and jobs. They’re trying every trick in the book to try to change the subject and paint the Republicans as racists, demagogues, birthers, whatever, because they know the dems are in trouble when it comes to the real issues.

  11. Rolling Stone’s “clarification” doesn’t really clarify it that much. They could have avoided the controversy by sticking to MUSIC questions instead of asking a 17 year old about political issues. What’s next? Miley Cyrus being asked about the deficit? And I refer to the federal budget deficit, not that her father, Billy Ray, has certain deficiencies when it comes to parenting.

  12. Anybody who grew up with Rolling Stone knows they do extensive interviews with musicians; it’s not just about music. Any interview about music with Bieber would be pretty short..

  13. Hey Pam, since we could use a few more voices around here, and Andy has recently chosen to be one of them, how ’bout disagreeing with him without the “stfu” stuff. Are you always pissed off?

  14. Any interview about music with Bieber would be pretty short..

What 16 year old could give detailed views on his or her music?

    Mozart doesn’t count.

Me with the first Mozart reference on ICN. Don’t see this classy stuff on Mediaite, that’s for sure.

  15. Joe: stuff like this does make me angry. I am living this situation every day and can not get around to do business. And no I am not always angry – I made a very nice comment about Phil Keating just yesterday!

I also asked a question on another thread this morning to try to gather more information. With no qualifiers – positive or negative on that story – just a question. Maybe you just remember when I am angry.

  16. Maybe you just remember when I am angry.

HA! Girl, if you only knew how funny that is..

  17. - Mozart -

Who is this “Mozart”?. Never heard o’ that band. ;-)

  18. ^Happens every time I try to elevate the discussion……

  19. Joe I am totally clueless as to what that comments mean. Should I be offended or not?

  20. Sorry, Pam..a little too “inside baseball”. I’ve been told that my memory of “angry moments” tends to overshadow happier ones. You hit on a mental defect of mine that had me laughing my arse off.

  21. It’s important to laugh every day – something about endorphins. I am glad I was able to contribute to your overall health today.

  22. The fact that Pam is afraid to get out and pursue her life is telling. These union thugs will stop at nothing – first they riot en masse, and they KNOW they can be as violent or vulgar as they want, because they media will totally ignore any bad behavior (completey opposite of how the Tea Party is handled). Then they go out to the homes of the “enemy”, and intimidate these people and their families. Now they’ve even recruited members of the community, such as kids, who don’t even know why they are there!

Correct me if I’m wrong, but these people are NOT being denied health care and pensions. It’s just that they are being asked to actually contribute their own money to these funds, in amounts still much smaller than what other Americans typically pay.

    Thuggery at its finest.

  23. I am SO SORRY I didn’t proofread.

  24. I am glad I was able to contribute to your overall health today.

    Yer killin me.

  25. Missy: it’s not that I am afraid to go out and do my business, it’s just that city of Madison is closed to traffic near our capitol. In my mind the police officers are there to protect my right to do business as much as they are there to keep the peace with the protesters. That is not what is happening. After I could not get to where I needed to go I came home to call the police and make a complaint about the situation I was basically dissed by the officer on the phone. When asked when they were going to clear the streets so people could get around he said – “not any time soon”. I know the police department is unionized, so it doesn’t surprise me that they don’t feel the need to pursue any issue that is not considered an emergency by citizens.

  26. Pam, that’s even worse! If you can’t count on the police for protection or at least have them respond to your concern in a respectful manner, the union aggression is getting to be out of control.

It is infuriating to me that these peole are protesting, yet still have compensation packages MUCH BETTER than 99% of the country’s workforce. Yet the story line is out that all benefits and pension is being taken away from them (not true).

Let’s keep Gov. Walker in our prayers.

  27. Ooh, Fox has a new voice for those annoying teaser-promos. Not that anyone cares, but it’s the same announcer voice from WSB radio. I told you you wouldn’t care.

  28. You mean we have a new guy for “Is Obama instituting Sharia Law in America? An explosive Hannity, Tuesday” ?

  29. Of course. Maybe the other one developed a conscience. It could happen. ;-)

  30. Whoa. Coulter on LOD. Really.

  31. Wow. That was…great. He kept referring to Ann as “my former colleague at MSNBC” (when was that?), they obviously like each other, and they made each other look better. What the hell?

  32. – LOD and Ann –

Dogs and cats sleeping together, you should pardon the expression.

  33. How about dogs and cats and whatever else taking care of each other – it’s a lovely sentiment! Let’s just all get along, ok?

I think we will all sleep better tonight.

  34. ^ (mutters to self, “Next time you think Pam is always angry, remember dogs and cats video”..)

  35. As Al would say, ‘It’s a Black Lab. Don’t try this at home’.

  36. In the you can’t make it up file. I can’t believe I missed this.

John Boehner said today “Read my lips; we’re going to cut spending”

    Ehhh – OK John. :-)

  37. I liked ‘Midwest Mussolini’. Thought it showed a little imagination.
