Roger Ailes to be Indicted? Not so fast…
Apparently rumors are swirling that Roger Ailes will be indicted soon in connection with the fallout from the NY Times revelations on the Judith Regan lawsuit. These rumors got started because of something Barry Ritteholtz wrote on his blog. However, as Salon’s Justin Elliot writes there more to this story which makes the rumors based less on proof and more based on kibitzing…
On Sunday morning, the economics analyst and TV commentator Barry Ritholtz dropped a bombshell on his blog: Roger Ailes, the powerful president of Fox News, will be indicted in connection with allegedly telling a News Corp. executive to lie to federal investigators, according to Ritholtz’s blog post.
The story, which was based on what an unnamed source told Ritholtz, quickly boomeranged around the Web and Twitter. Several well-read web sites, including Business Insider and Political Wire, picked up the report.
As it turns out, Ritholtz’s source for the post was a man he happened to meet and strike up a conversation with at a Barbados airport over the weekend, he told me in an interview this afternoon.

Seriously?

I for one like Judith Regan’s show.

I for one would do a week-long happy-dance if that blight on the news landscape was indicted. How’s that big government feel now, huh?

Send his ass to Gitmo!

If ya can’t beat ‘em, indict ‘em.

Throw him in with Delay.

… a man he happened to meet and strike up a conversation with at a Barbados airport over the weekend,”
And what did the airport valet say about this?
‘Cause I’d like a second source.
Oy, the jackals are out on this one.

Why? You sure would be happy to see a lot of people you disagree with in prison. That’s a bit odd.

I’m a mean SOB, LS. What can I say, I’ve earned my hate.

The late Senator Daniel Moynihan’s “Iron law of Emulation”: Groups in opposition to one another over time start to resemble each other.
Not good.

Groups in opposition to one another gtend to resemble the one playing the toughest game, or else one ceases to exist.

I’ve earned my hate.
That can’t be a good thing. You must really hate yourself.

You must really hate yourself.
You would like to believe that, wouldn’t you?
February 27, 2011 at 10:40 pm
No, honestly.

Al, you know damn well what I hate, and you support it. This isn’t a game. The far right is an immoral, ruthless mob. That’s it.
February 27, 2011 at 10:57 pm
Anything beyond what fits into your limited scope you label “far right”. I don’t see any right-wingers strong-arming from the middle class to fund their agendas. I see plenty of liberals doing that, however.

I am wasting my life arguing ideology with you guys. Nobody’s mind is ever changed. Goodnight.

David Shuster is getting excited with all this premature indictment talk!
