Just searched FNC’s website high & low and can’t find any mention of Huckabee’s comments about Natalie Portman. Imagine my shock!
On a side note: Is Huckabee a ‘tard? How does he expect to get the nomination without the Jewish vote along with all their loyalists?
Would it be fair to call Mike Huckabee an anti-Semite just because he criticized a Jew?
You betcha!
Finally, Black Swan was utter trash and I turned it off after 40 minutes. That said, I think Natalie Portman is a good actress but she’s a skank. The woman only met the baby daddy on the set of Black Swan.
Thanks, Dollar. But, that’s a link to Pop Eater. No wonder it didn’t come up in my search assuming FNC’s website works correctly.
One would think FNC could get around to writing their own column, no? And maybe even have Huck talking about it on his own FNC page? I looked there as well.
Btw, maybe you could weigh in every once in a while instead of just correcting falsehoods about FNC? We’d love to know what ya really think about things discussed here!
“I’ll settle for J$ ever criticizing Fox. Not gonna happen.”
That’s what we got you for Joe…there’s no lack of FOX bashers johnny$ just tries to balance that bashing with some facts…like he just did with the Huckabee remarks by Terance.
That’s what we got you for Joe…there’s no lack of FOX bashers johnny$ just tries to balance that bashing with some facts…like he just did with the Huckabee remarks by Terance.
Haha. He pointed me to a link talking about the story on ANOTHER website. (Just for fun, Pop Eater actually sourced US Weekly.) Yeah, it was there but is probably just an automated rss feed.
Mlong – Tell us what you make of Johnny Dollar “outing” Shep as a Maddow watching liberal? Is painting him as a liberal more important than the straight news moniker?
Also, do you think FNC told him to write that? Maybe they wanna make Sheppy mad so he’ll pack his stuff and leave the fat contract? Do share the wisdom you possess.
The Huckster’s “pregnancy” comments make him look a little silly, but at least it got him off the Kenya/madrassa idiocy. I’m SO looking forward to his Saturday show, wherein he’ll folksily admonish the “mainstream media” (which he’s a part of) for attacking poor poor pitiful me, then brush it all away with “enough said”.
That would be..must see. Easy to forget that Matthews used to work for Ailes, so long ago and far away. I imagine that they would detest one another, but of such things chemistry is made.
Would it be fair to call Mike Huckabee an anti-Semite just because he criticized a Jew?
You betcha!
What happened to you, T? You used to be reasonable… and now… well, that’s just dumb! And honestly, more than a little offensive (much like the people who cry ‘racism’ all the time, calling ‘anti-Semitism’ isn’t a weapon to be hurled for political disagreements).
much like the people who cry ‘racism’ all the time
That’s a shot at me, and I’m not gonna put up with being brushed off with sweeping generalisations. There’s racists in the Tea Party, and some politicians are preaching to them. That. Is the truth.
Most people look at Natalie Portman, and the last thing to cross their mind is that she might be Jewish. If it’s the first thing to cross your mind, you might want to look into that.
Sadly, I’m not always talking about you. No, that comment wasn’t about you in the slightest.
Sorry, buddy.
But if you’d like, here’s one for you… the Chevy HHR looks like a a VW Beetle mated with a Buick station wagon, resulting in a car that looks like lumpy hearse. It gives the Pontiac Aztec a run for its money in terms of being un-aesthetically pleasing.
The Chevy HHR is way better looking than the Pontiac Aztek. The HHR is a manly alternative to the Chrysler PT Cruiser. Joe’s has a 260 hp turbo. Even if the car is ugly, the turbo makes up for it.
Btw, that’s HHR SS to you, buddy. There’s a lot of loud little Hondas around here that don’t know there’s a Super Sport version of the ugly little HHR. Surprise!
Hehehe… I’m just trying to push some buttons. I don’t really care about the HHR.
I am, however, looking at the new Buick Regal… looks very nice, reasonable price, good reviews, and pretty plush for a smaller car. But my current lease isn’t up until August, so I’ve got some time. With gas prices as they are, I might just buy a Segway, and dork myself around town.
Did you know that Scarlett Johansson is half Jewish?
That “people who are Jewish” thing IS weird. It’s like they have “Jewdar”. I’m thankfully free of this useless device, and a little suspicious of those who have it.
The fast one comes with my turbo motor. Power when you want it, economy car MPG if you stay off the gas and don’t spool the turbo up. Gorgeous AMERICAN car. Get that sucker!
Eh… I looked it up one day when a buddy of mine said there were no attractive Jewish women in Hollywood. Once Scarlett came up, the contest was over… I won.
And momma wants me to bring home a Jewish gal… and I’m sure Scarlett is Jewish enough for both of us.
As for the Regal… I’m thinking about it. Not sure I want to spend the extra money for the Turbo, but by August, who knows what the sales will be? It is very nice… high on my list (along with the new Sonata -which looks great, and gets very good reviews-, and the Volkswagen CC). But it’s early yet… we’ll see.
Anything will be better than my Altima. What a boring car it turned out to be.
Huckabee, check. Cars, check. Nothing bad to say about Palin lately, check. Looks like I’m done for the day. We need that My2Cents person to stir you guys up..I’m pooped.
Joe, the turbo that is currently available in the Buick Regal is only 220 HP. The 260 HP Regal doesn’t come out for a little while.
Blue, the base engine in the regal is really good. It is pretty efficient and actually very refined for a 4-cylinder engine. It’s the same engine in the Chevy Equinox, which is heavier than the Regal, and I think the Equinox moves pretty well for a pretty large crossover.
What happened to you, T? You used to be reasonable… and now… well, that’s just dumb! And honestly, more than a little offensive (much like the people who cry ‘racism’ all the time, calling ‘anti-Semitism’ isn’t a weapon to be hurled for political disagreements).
Dumb.
I couldn’t agree with you more, ImNotBlue. The point being, the antisemitism “card” is played so fast and loose, its hard to tell if its actually from the correct deck. I wasn’t serious about Huck being an anti-Semite. It was purely tongue in cheek.
Lets not dance around the issue here. I think we can agree people that hate Jews and/or Israel just because of their Jewish religion are anti-Semitic.
I finally heard the Huckabee clip about Portman. There’s no way that what I heard could be described as an “attack” or a “slam”. He said what I and a lot of others think. When Hollywood glamorizes single-mother hood, they fail to mention the millions of dollars they have that enables them to hire nannies, housekeepers, etc. Natalie Portman, and those like her, are “single mothers” in name only. Huckabee was correct. And for Christ’s sake, is there anything a conservative can say that the lefty media won’t find a way to take offense at? Sheesh.
Someone on MSNBC talking to Andrea Mitchell said that it was obviously meant to appeal to his hard-right base. Huh? When did the preference for two parents become a fringe-issue?
Oh, and that ‘someone’ was a reporter, I’m pretty sure. Jon Heileman? And he drew a direct comparison between that and Huckabee’s other comments, which were not at all defensible.
Someone on MSNBC talking to Andrea Mitchell said that it was obviously meant to appeal to his hard-right base.
I heard that..it was a stupid way to phrase it. He’s appealing to his Christian base, which tends to be “hard right”. Aside from the fact that it sounds kinda silly to single out Natalie Portman, I don’t see a problem with Huckabee promoting his concepts of what constitutes moral behavior.
And he drew a direct comparison between that and Huckabee’s other comments, which were not at all defensible.
I wasn’t paying enough attention to verify how that connection was made, but there’s certainly a narrative of Mike Huckabee “saying stuff” intended to appeal to certain segments of the right wing this week. If the reporter attempted to paint both comments as equally divisive..uh uh.
I can think of a whole bunch of Christian and Jewish Democrats who have a problem with promoting out-of-wedlock baby-making.
As for Natalie Portman, once I looked up who she is and read about her pregnancy and apparent engagement, big whoopity-doo. Didn’t seem to suggest that she just decided to have babies without a man involved… so aside from refusing to hide from the public view, I don’t see how she “glamorised” unwed pregnancy. I’ll assume that the governor’s opinion was meant in the best regard and ignore him.
I’ll assume that the governor is on a book tour and talking too much. Yeah, I didn’t get the Portman angle, either. In Christian Shotgun Wedding World, choosing to get married after getting pregnant is considered a “proper fix”.
He knows she won Best Actress, right? That’s not the kinda thing you skip so as not to send “the wrong message”. Which apparently is the joys of single motherhood. Which she’s not doing.
Geez, Terance, I can’t keep up with Huck’s logic. It’s a couple having children out of wedlock (they’re getting married); no, it’s single motherhood (she’s not single); no, no, he wasn’t criticizing Natalie Portman (he was), he’s spotlighting the plight of poor single mothers (by using, as an example, a rich woman with a boyfriend she’s going to marry). I was right..he talks too much.
Joe Remi – I think FNC needs to fire him at once. Also, notice how Portman’s PR hack didn’t respond either.. I’m thinking she just wants this loser to go away.
Eh, I’m not in the “fire him” camp, I would just appreciate it if he would stick to what he knows, which apparently is that all good little boys become Boy Scouts and go to the Rotary Club. A thing he clearly doesn’t know is where the President spent his childhood, and with whom.
Given all these details, of which I knew nothing, it does seem as though Huck was making a play to his base. He was trying to have a ‘Murphy Brown’-moment, without benefit of watching the episode. Not too swift.
^ I think he heard someone he hangs with make a similar point – the concept does make some sense in the abstract – and then adapted it for his own use. Then he stepped in it.
He was attempting to make a perfectly valid, laudable point..but then attached it to an inapt situation. It not only denigrates him, but the larger point that he was trying to make. It’s a shame.
Huck’s problem is that he’s lazy. He wants to do a little base-pandering, cooks up The Thing I Want To Say, but doesn’t bother with a plausible setup.
Thing I Want To Say: Obama is a scary Muslim black man who hates America. “Let’s see..Kenya, blacks-against-whites war, madrassa, father. Yeah, that oughta cover it.”
Thing I Want To Say: Poor single motherhood is a Bad Thing. “Hey, who’s that pregnant chick at the Oscars. She married?”
Has Fox News officially run out of things to talk about? Who in the wide world of sports gives a flying fark what Michael Moore has to say about ANYTHING? WHO? The Left doesn’t even care much anymore. I swear to God, there’s some sort of warped synergy between irrelevant Lefties and Fox, where Kathy Griffin, Roseanne, Mikey, and whoever-the-hell can say something brainless, and they start yapping like the hounds of hell. SHUT UP.
The lawyer for the Westboro (not really) Baptist Church will be on Fox News Sunday. I realise this is a current event news story, but does Wallace believe anyone wants to watch this interview?
I agree with SOTUS that theirs is protected free speech. So is my protruding middle finger if I’m ever in the vicinity of those scum-bags protesting.
Lunatics on a street corner. They have the right to be morons, and the only attention they deserve is the swift punch to the face they’ll get as I ride by. I agree this qualifies as a Real Story because the Supremes got involved, but nobody wants to see these bastards interviewed.
The only good thing about Phelps and his inbred clan is both the Left and Right can join together in their mutual hate for them…and as I said before I’m hope when he dies we can all give his funeral all the”respect”it’ll deserve.
I loved the look on Bill O’Reilly’s face after Sarah Palin told him that the the satellite delay between NY & AK was bad enough, so it would really help if he would stop interrupting her. It was obvious that he was a little irked by that, but she said it so nicely and in such a way that he really had to just shut up.
O’Reilly (rightly) likes to control an interview and that had to be hard for him.
Godaddy.com, and yes, being a woman who’s run a bigger part-time schedule than any other woman doesn’t exactly define “successful”. The reality is, she drives a really good car in NASCAR..poorly.
Oops, I guessed I proved my sexist pig bona fides. I should have known there was a reason people were talking about Danica today. I was typing while I watched the DVR of yesterday’s race. Um..she came in 4th. That’s some good “poor driving”. In a nod to Andy, “Old Man” Mark Martin won!

This has a link to a New York Times article that has a bit more depth than anything I’ve seen on the subject.
Charlie Sheen and the disposable woman

^ I really didn’t want to read that, but “New York Times” and “Laura” told me it was worth a shot. Very interesting, very depressing.

SHUT UP.
March 5, 2011 at 10:55 am
Laura, I think there is some sort of agreement between left-wing celebs and FNC. The fighting seems to benefit both sides.
March 5, 2011 at 11:03 am
Who’s Michael Moore?

The lawyer for the Westboro (not really) Baptist Church will be on Fox News Sunday. I realise this is a current event news story, but does Wallace believe anyone wants to watch this interview?
I agree with SOTUS that theirs is protected free speech. So is my protruding middle finger if I’m ever in the vicinity of those scum-bags protesting.

Joe’s kingdom for an edit button. “Can I have a ‘C’?”
March 5, 2011 at 11:18 am
Lunatics on a street corner. They have the right to be morons, and the only attention they deserve is the swift punch to the face they’ll get as I ride by. I agree this qualifies as a Real Story because the Supremes got involved, but nobody wants to see these bastards interviewed.
March 5, 2011 at 11:37 am
Are the lawyers actually part of WBC, or are they just ACLU-type free speech advocates?
March 5, 2011 at 11:44 am
It’d be nice if we could stop calling them a church. That ain’t no church.
March 5, 2011 at 2:14 pm
The lawyer is Margie Phelps, daughter of the ‘church’ founder.
March 5, 2011 at 2:42 pm
Everyone say it along with me, “Its not a ‘church’ unless there is a cloud of molestation hanging over it.”
March 5, 2011 at 3:32 pm
^ You are sick, terence, but I have to admit that was funny.
March 5, 2011 at 3:39 pm
Thanks, Al.
Btw, anyone watched Shameless on Showtime? Its a remake of the UK series which I haven’t seen.
Anyway, I absolutely love Emmy Rossum!
March 5, 2011 at 3:42 pm
Since everyone in that church is related, it may be a cloud of something else.
March 5, 2011 at 4:04 pm
Has anyone seen Juliet Huddy since ICN raised the questions about her continuing with Fox? Where is she?
Has anyone gotten any more info on why Julie Banderas is “back in the studio”?
Keep up the good work in raising such points, ICN. The Media is notoriously bad at covering itself.
March 5, 2011 at 5:06 pm
Who the hell is the ‘East Coast Rapist’, and why is Fox playing it like something we should all know about? A little synergy for Greta, I suppose.
March 5, 2011 at 11:09 pm
The only good thing about Phelps and his inbred clan is both the Left and Right can join together in their mutual hate for them…and as I said before I’m hope when he dies we can all give his funeral all the”respect”it’ll deserve.
March 5, 2011 at 11:13 pm
”I’m so sorry, Officer, but the hearse just went out of control and ran them all down.”
March 6, 2011 at 10:07 am
I loved the look on Bill O’Reilly’s face after Sarah Palin told him that the the satellite delay between NY & AK was bad enough, so it would really help if he would stop interrupting her. It was obvious that he was a little irked by that, but she said it so nicely and in such a way that he really had to just shut up.
O’Reilly (rightly) likes to control an interview and that had to be hard for him.

Harris Faulkner, uber NASCAR fan… named her second child “Danica” after Danica Patrick. #gofigure
March 6, 2011 at 8:47 pm
Da
March 6, 2011 at 8:49 pm
Let’s try that again. Danica is mainly an Indycar driver (my favorite series), but I can take a joke.
March 6, 2011 at 9:04 pm
It was a story on Fox Report about Danica Patrick being the most successful woman NASCAR driver ever.
March 6, 2011 at 9:08 pm
Isn’t that a bit like being the most successful Amish waitress at Hooter’s?
March 6, 2011 at 9:10 pm
She’s a hit on… that website that I can never remember the name of because they focus too much on the juggies.
March 6, 2011 at 9:36 pm
That’s why God made bookmarks.
March 6, 2011 at 11:00 pm
Godaddy.com, and yes, being a woman who’s run a bigger part-time schedule than any other woman doesn’t exactly define “successful”. The reality is, she drives a really good car in NASCAR..poorly.
March 6, 2011 at 11:27 pm
Oops, I guessed I proved my sexist pig bona fides. I should have known there was a reason people were talking about Danica today. I was typing while I watched the DVR of yesterday’s race. Um..she came in 4th. That’s some good “poor driving”. In a nod to Andy, “Old Man” Mark Martin won!
