I was bothered by FBN’s new lineup. Not because I don’t think Lou Dobbs is a good fit for 7 PM, David Asman for 9 PM, and Eric Bolling for 10 PM (although I don’t get why they preempt Follow The Money for Stossel on Thursday), but because Asman and Bolling both use the same studio. Both shows are pre-taped, but having two shows in a row using the same studio looks weird. Asman could easily do his show from a different studio, and then I would be bothered.
The media tells us ‘dirty bombs’ are catastrophic and terrorists would love to use ‘em on us! However, the fallout (literally and figuratively) from this nuclear mess in Japan is much worse.
So, how about putting things in perspective for once? And how about this crap blowing over the west coast? Do you really expect the US Government to tell us if that’s the case?
Think back to the 9/11 responders.. They’re still having a hard time getting their medical bills paid, no?
Thanks, joe, for the info on Red Eye. Sticking with people in the building…I never thought of that. Now that you mention it, whenever Ann Coulter appears on Hannity, she usually appears on Red Eye the same night.

Same with Mike Baker and SE Cupp, who were both on last night. You’ll usually see them littering the Fox landscape the same day they show up on Red Eye.
I hope the US eventually gets into Japan and gives us a real reading on the radiation danger there. The Japanese government – and the people who run the reactors – are useless as an information source. They’re going to downplay this thing, and polite Japanese society is going to accept it, and suffer in silence. Um..no.
I think the networks are hyping the reactor potential too much, but it’s not really their fault. Dr. Michio Kaku is a brilliant theoretical physicist and I’ve no doubt he could quickly perform the equations for determining caesium control rod proximity required for obtaining sustained fission. He is not, however, expert at engineering design parameters for nuclear reactors. So having him on as an “expert” to say that they’re almost at the worse case scenario is not helpful – and Fox has used him, too. He and Bill Nye might be better choices to interview than the weather guy, but not by much.
But what are the news people expected to do when neither the power company nor the Japanese government have been putting out timely and reliable information? If I was in charge of one of the news nets, I’d probably go with a little hype simply because it sounds plausible and there’s time to fill.
The “good” is that these reactors weren’t designed like the one at Chernobyl. Bad is that spent fuel stored outside a containment area is dangerous enough to keep workers away. #dumb
Brainiacs can figure out how to generate relatively clean electricity using nuclear technology. Nobody thinks to build a tsunami wall around ocean-side reactors.
Pretty much..seems bashing Christan’s is almost a job requirement at MSNBC..and since Crazy Larry admitted that he doesn’t go after Muslims because of fear he just doubles down on Christan’s a little more than most there.

Very important topic: Is Red Eye cutting back its guests to only 2 now? There were only two last night and there will only be two again tonight.

Boy howdy, Gingrich speaks again. The last time he opened his mouth, Wisconsin and Japan happened. Guess he couldn’t take that as a tip to shut up.

Ya can’t have it both ways, news junkies.

Carol, that happens sometimes on Red Eye. They’re probably sticking with who’s in the building, knowing the show may get bumped for Japan coverage.

Imagine that. Where taxes are low and they drill for oil, people have jobs. Downside is, you have to live in North Dakota..

– Red Eye/Hannity –
I’m quite certain that there is an ‘Ann Coulter’-suite set aside for such occasions.

Still no Juliet Huddy, eh? Even with her tweets last week, with all of the very busy reporting going on, she is missing.

I snagged this from Spud’s Twitter. Hysterical.

I want to congratulate Spud for having better coverage of the catastrophe in Japan than msnbc has had since the disaster began.

No, they’re not.

Still not a “Chernobyl”, but all workers having to evacuate is bad.
March 15, 2011 at 8:04 pm
I haven’t heard a “good” yet. This thing is completely out of control.
