    Wow. Lockdown: Japan. Who knew?

  2. Does this mean someone’s finally gonna tell her where the damn camera is?

  3. missy5537 Says:

“Lockdown Japan”! I was kinda thinking the same thing.

Maybe they’re finally getting serious about news.

  4. C’mom, you guys, I bash MSNBC for their weekend strategy as hard as anybody, but they do news just fine when they’re actually on the clock. And “Lockdown: Japan” isn’t funny at a time like this.

  5. About time.

Just like the 2004 Tsunami, they’re about five laps down.

CNN and FOX have been live, pretty close to 24/7. Msnbc should’ve dumped the documentaries, Ed and Matthews so they could get real coverage of this.

  6. Shame, honestly. I’ve been a loyal, life long msnbc viewer and I’m extremely disappointed I’ve had to turn on CNN and FOX News to get coverage of this story. Rachel Maddow has been the only one worth watching at msnbc. The rest of their non-existent coverage has been downright horrible.

I don’t think Comcast and NBC are serious about msnbc anymore.

  7. I don’t think that’s a fair assessment of the last two days, Andy. Aside from some inane questions from Matthews (of course) the dayside and primetime crews have done well, including Ed. I saw your tweet about Ed doing politics on his show yesterday, but it was just one part. The Fox and CNN folks are doing other stories, too, but everybody is leading with Japan, and spending most of their time on it.

  9. whitneymuse Says:

Sorry, must have too many windows open …you can tell I as at Zappos…my first order…

  10. icemannyr Says:

CNN was a joke last night. The 10pm ET hour of AC360 aired again at 11pm.
If the news was “breaking” why not be live for the 11pm ET hour?
I tried to get live coverage on CNN International and they had the same old AC360 broadcast from 10pm on at 11pm ET.
Good job by MSNBC having live coverage at 11pm.

  11. icemannyr Says:

CNN should have a giant RECORDED on the screen right now since they are not live.
CNNi switched to their own live coverage since AC360 is a rebroadcast of the 10pm ET hour at 11pm ET.

    Only MSNBC is live.

  12. Nice having Live news at eleven. Good move by MSNBC.

    – Zappos –

God, that was funny. Sounds like something I would do.

  13. - Zappos -

Ooh..betcha they sell stupid expensive sunglassess. Hmm..

  14. mlong5000 Says:

Maybe MSNBC is having trouble covering Japan because they can’t find a way to blame it on Bush,FOX News,Sara Palin and the Tea Party and they can’t cheer lead for Obama because he’s pretty much MIA on the disaster.

  15. whitneymuse Says:

no no, shoes….free shipping both ways …got my first pair and will send them back free, too; the CSR and I hit it off and she rewarded with me with a VIP member ship….ONE day shipping if I get it B4 1PM…it pays to be charming….just kidding…

    HONTO…in Japanese that means, Really!…

    HONTO…:)

  16. whitneymuse Says:

Wow, this MSNBC is starting plenty slowly maybe crescendo into a big spectacular……WOOOSH….Bill-o and his pin-head review with John Stossel….and that Cavuto….now I get irrational ….sorry.

  17. Mlong, since MSNBC is the only one live right now, you might want to pack up your stock phrases for a while. Speaking of..

..the reactors are melting; the radiation levels in Tokyo are rising; Chris Jansing is reporting live from Tokyo; outside; and the wind is blowing like hell. I don’t like this.

  18. whitneymuse Says:

wow…that Lexus looks nice….CT4200 hybrid? can go vertical.
    Olay, too.

  19. whitneymuse Says:

C’mon Chris, you can take the wind…it’s in front of the Tokyo Tower!

  20. missy5537 Says:

whitney, zappos is WAY too expensive, even with free shipping! Shop around a little bit first.

“C’mom, you guys, I bash MSNBC for their weekend strategy as hard as anybody, but they do news just fine when they’re actually on the clock. And “Lockdown: Japan” isn’t funny at a time like this.”

That’s not what the numbers say. And, “Lockdown: Japan” is funny because it’s mocking MSNBC, not Japan.

I’ve been on hold with the IRS for over 30 minutes. Props to them for being available to answer a question but pick up the $#@&%# phone already.

  22. whitneymuse Says:

almost looks like n Olympic pool, but those are spent rods’ bath to keep ‘em cool. That’s what was allowed to go low, and got too hot and caught fire. (I think today)

  23. whitneymuse Says:

chirs is going to have a tangled mess when she gets into her hotel.

  24. That’s not what the numbers say.

What do “the numbers” have to do with the quality of the newsgathering? This isn’t American Idol.

  25. lonestar77 Says:

“What do “the numbers” have to do with the quality of the newsgathering? This isn’t American Idol.”

They say that no one trusts MSNBC to cover actual news. The people watching them are the same who tune in to see them recap every FNC program or to tell them what Michele Bachman & Sarah Palin had to say about the quality of ice cream cones produced in a factory outside of Toledo.

  26. whitneymuse Says:

At least we know she has an excellent colorist for her hair.

  27. whitneymuse Says:

Did you see the blanket on the floor? Burberry plaid. Class!

  28. whitneymuse Says:

Got my chores done for this eveing; laundry and my bed time…thanks for the tip on this special ; have to say they need to pick up the pace; the tempo of this show drags..but I like Chris Jansing, so I’ll overlook it.

  29. whitneymuse Says:

Oh yes, we are seeing tomorrow, tonight.

  30. icemannyr Says:

At 12am MSNBC is done, FNC on tape, CNN switched to CNNi.

  31. whitneymuse Says:

Did you know Maddow was a Rhodes Scholar?

  32. They say that no one trusts MSNBC to cover actual news.

Uh huh. You responded to my comment about how well MSNBC has covered this story the last two days with a “numbers” quip, and now you’re telling me the numbers matter because “nobody trusts MSNBC”. So it has nothing to do with the comment you responded to, you’re just saying stuff. Good to know.

  33. whitneymuse Says:

More precisely the heat is used to make steam that turns the rubines that generates. he electricity

  34. whitneymuse Says:

Bright and she is still a non-science TV personality explaining nuclear fission eactions in a reactor. I could write the copy for her better, I think.

  35. whitneymuse Says:

Good night to the peanut gallery on ICN 2.0…see you tomorrow!…sleep.

  36. lonestar77 Says:

Okay, Joe. Maybe they’re providing exceptional coverage. I mean, with a 5 hour block of Matthews, Cenk, Larry, Rachel & Ed how could they not be. Anyway, all I know is that if you put out a product that nobody buys, typically the product sucks.

  37. Anyway, all I know is that if you put out a product that nobody buys, typically the product sucks.

That is absolutely not true in the media. The People love their crap. Numbers have no relationship to quality, unless you’re looking at an inverse quotient.

  38. whitneymuse Says:

missy5537 , you’re right it’s a little bit expensive on Saucony running shoes vies a vie the same shoe, but by just a tad.
One show in particular. Plus I went for the Prime member ship; seems excessive but I can just order stufff w/ol regard to accumulating >$25
    Thank you, missy5537

  39. Anyway, all I know is that if you put out a product that nobody buys, typically the product sucks.

So, I guess because McDonald’s sells millions of cheeseburgers a month, that must mean it’s really good food, right? Granted, news channels and fast food are completely different products, but they are both considered products.
