Per TV Newser, Nancy Grace will be on “Dancing with the Stars”.
I don’t know about the rest of you, but this type of cross-over thing, from news to “entertainment” (I guess) just doesn’t seem right. She is such a hard-nose about everything; it just seems extremely strange that she’d take on such a frivilous endeavor.
I am still not over my hero, Tucker Carlson, participating on that program, which I don’t watch anyway. It just seems unseemingly.
Missy, you’re operating under the mistaken impression that Nancy Grace is a news person.
She’s only that in the sense that Dr. Drew is a news person; in that they both appear on HLN which rarely does news coverage anymore; despite the networks name.
You can call what Nancy Grace does many things, but “news” isn’t one of them. Also, there is no “news” in HLN’s title. This was made clear during the announcement that Headline News would become HLN. The press release specified that “HLN” weren’t initials for anything.
Well OK then. I’m off to KFC, for whatever it is they serve there!
I didn’t mean to say that Nancy Grace was a great newsreader/journalist/whatever; it’s just that WHATEVER you call her, her demeanor is that of being deadly serious. And this dancing show, from the few minutes I’ve actually seen of it, is just the opposite.
I just seems strange, that’s all.
And on the other topic of this thread, I would LOVE to see Carol Costello taken down (verbally, of course) by anyone! She used to be very straight “down the middle” politically, but is now just a leftist hack.
There’s a part of me that enjoys those stupid, smarmy, “you don’t get your disaster relief” Tea Party morons being stomped on, but it’s overrridden by the fact that this is the second time the President has misused access to primetime for a political stunt. It’s also politically stupid: He elevated a GOP debate nobody was going to watch to Presidential Speech Followup. Nice move.
The Iowa rally thingy is not turning out well for Palin. I don’t care how unconventional she is she cannot run a presidential campaign like this. Wishful thinking is that this is all pregame jitters and if/when she gets out the gate she will be flawless. I guess we will see.
It looks like she is going to the rally after all. Man does she know how to put on a show…
At a meeting of the Black Congressional caucus Rep Andre Carson said..”"Some of them in Congress right now of this tea party movement would love to see you and me … hanging on a tree.”
Knowing it won’t happen I would love someone to challenge Rep Carson to named which fellow Congressmen/Women wants to see him hanging from a tree…just put a name to these murderous Cogresspeople..if he can’t name one member of Congress that he believes want to see him hanging then his comments are BS and he knows it.
By the way MSNBC’s Tamton Hall was there but apparently like Obama at Rev.Wrights church didn’t hear him say anything….or she might have reported on it like everyone else did.
I wouldn’t give the criticism of the rally thingy to PDS or Palin bashing, it’s just a bad situation all around that almost avoided being an all out quagmire. Hopefully Saturday she gives people a decent clue of her future plans.
Those environmentalists are at that sit-in near the White House are completely ignorant. The only thing they’re doing is hurting America. If they think stopping the Keystone pipeline is going to stop oil sands development, they’re completely delusional.
Also, it’s now called the oil sands NOT tar sands since there is no real tar in it. They only use the term because tar is considered dirty. Using images instead of actual facts. The only thing remotely close to tar are the compounds used in producing asphalt. Hopefully the US stimulus package fund any projects involving paved roads.
There are many good reasons to halt oil sands development but they only talk about global warming, which is a bad point to make since Canada produces 2% of the world’s GHGs and the oil sands produce a fraction of that 2%. You have to wonder if the real reason behind their outrage is that Canada is being run by right-wingers for the last 5 yrs. They weren’t so loud when the liberals were in charge in Canada. The fact the province of Alberta being under the control of the same centre-right party for the last 40 yrs probably doesn’t help the oil sands.
Obama moved the speech to Thursday. Stomping on a debate nobody would watch didn’t work, so he’s gonna do it on NFL Opening Day. I’m pretty sure most of these things are held on Tuesdays, which would have bothered exactly no one. The list of people dumber than Sarah Palin is growing..
Presidents Clinton and Bush (43) each gave one non-SOTU address before a joint session over eight years. In only three years President Obama will give his second this Thursday.
^The only thing he has going for him is his words and rhetoric, but he is clearly overplaying this vital hand. He better hope this oratory well doesn’t run dry before the general election season or he is going to have some trouble.
He hasn’t had “oratory” since the campaign. He’s done an excellent job since then of hitting “progressive” ideas at the wrong time, then caving to the right when he had the upper hand.
When I rule the world and ex-Prez Obama calls with a little advice, I’m gonna right it down, then tell my speechwriter, “Whatever you see on this page, put the opposite in my speech.”
He’s already going to have some trouble and this fight his people picked over Wednesday night may cost him dearly. Twitter news feed shows WH back-tracking on what they told the press about correspondences with Speaker Boehner. Some are thinking they were lied to.
Gee, do they think so? It was a clear and obvious lie about the most petty attempt imaginable to step on a political debate. It would be funny as hell if these people weren’t in charge of national security.
That wouldn’t be following what Bush did if they were, since that practice had been discontinued before we even knew about it. Besides, even if you believed waterboarding anyone to be justified the rationale for doing so has long since passed.

Just read on facebook that Ali Velshi ripped Carol Costello and she goes on to say, “I have never seen someone get singled out like that on tv.”
Now does anyone have the scoop/video or is this a typical part time news watchers’ overreaction?
August 31, 2011 at 7:53 am
I’d be for Nancy Grace appearing on DWTS … on the sole condition that she compete directly against Casey Anthony.

Don’t forget to fill up with whatever they sell at BP. It doesn’t stand for British Petroleum.

ESPN
AT&T
We could do this all day!

MSNBC doesn’t really stand for anything anymore since Microsoft only owns part of the website and not the channel.

Oops, the monster that Palin built – pretty airhead leads Tea Party – has come back to bite her.
“I don’t care if she actually wrote her own book, she only sold 2200..”

This president couldn’t be any smaller if he was miniaturized and injected into Martin Short.

And yet Politico asks if RICK PERRY is stupid…
August 31, 2011 at 3:49 pm
It’s still a good question. Perry makes Palin sound smart.
August 31, 2011 at 3:52 pm
Perry scares me, Bachmann terrifies me, Romney bores me, Palin aggravates me.
August 31, 2011 at 3:53 pm
I wouldn’t count on Palin making that event yet. Our Little Quitter has a knack for turning the bus around at the last minute..

– $60 billion has been lost to waste and fraud over the past decade in Iraq and Afghanistan…. –
I’ve seen a good bit of coverage of this on CNN and Fox. I guess they didn’t get the memo about ignoring it.

According to Richard Woolfe, Republicans are racist because Obama didn’t go through the proper channels in scheduling the Joint Session.
It’s gonna be a LOOOOOOOONG 18 months…
