Ed just lit into Donovan McNabb on his radio show. Am I the only one who finds this hysterical?
Hazards of Live TV Alert: Martin Bashir had ‘Rockerfeller Center Cam’ going into break right after interviewing Joe Walsh when a giant bug crawled right in front of the camera lens.
A few days ago Spud mentioned on twitter than MSNBC anchors will sometimes toss to a reporter as if it is a live report when in fact it is tape. He also said FNC and CNN don’t do this. But I’m pretty sure FNC does this on weekends, especially later in the day during the Fox Report. The reporter will even say, in the taped report, “back to you, Harris” or “Thanks, Gregg.” Kinda weird when they do that.
Oops, turns out Boehner’s “unprecedented diss” of the White House’s desire to use the House’s lectern as a political prop is not quite so unprecedented as first reported.
A) Think MSNBC will retract their last 36 hours of coverage?
B) Specifically, will Richard Woolfe report that Tip O’Neill was racist?
Not everybody has the same definition of “unprecedented”. To some, namely the left, events such as thunderstorms, heat, the use of the word “unprecedented” are unprecedented.
What they’re really saying is, it’s unprecedented this time because Obama is black.
Tommy Christopher is still going on about that on Twitter. It was a minor scuffle that your guy managed to lose badly. Move on, and people will forget.
Christopher is simply wrong. The president has no authority over the speaker and the traditional courtesy is to allow him an audience of the joint congress. An “insult” to the office would have been if Speaker Boehner denied the request.
The minor scuffle demonstrated the (nearly) unprecedented weakness of this pretentious president’s political clout and arguments like Tommy Christopher’s shines a bright spotlight on that.
Libs are completely out of ammo on this thing, and should drop it. Whether it was an unintentional screw-up (they’ll never admit it), or a political ploy, it backfired. Shut up.
What Onbama did was a d*ck move and everyone including honest Dems know it…the best thing for Obama’s cheerleaders in the MSM to do is drop it and start planning on how they’ll spin his speech next week when that bombs.
I got banned from Mediaite again, about 10 minutes after I re-signed up. I asked Tommy why he banned me for asking about his agreement with Tom Hartmann and that was enough to banish me a 2nd time. LOL. That guy is losing his marbles.
“I don’t think it’s ‘witty’ to treat libs as un-American”
How about Ed Schultz flat-out saying that Marco Rubio is un-American. If that’s not witty, what is it? Or is impugning someone’s patriotism considered just another day on the job for MSNBC’s Schultz?
If the definition of “America” is as outlined in our constitution, in which individual liberty reigns supreme and the limited role of the federal government is carefully delineated, then liberals (at least those who are representative of the modern equivalent of that term) do fit the “un-American” label to a significant extent.
To get around this, the liberal judicial philosophy must dismiss the meanings of words and phrases as they were at the time they were put to paper and ignore original intent, or treat same as unenlightened, no longer germane in the modern age.
You don’t get to call libs un-American because they have a different philosophy about how to interepret a constitution that has been amended many times. A bunch of self-righteous mumbo jumbo presuming only conservatives are “true Americans”.
“Interpreting” implies both understanding and remaining faithful to what was written. “Amending” is the proper mechanism for changing what was written. Neither requires a conservative worldview, only objectivity.
I suspect Marco Rubio does too, despite what MSNBC allows Ed Schultz to say. I have no problem with your being upset about someone saying something about only conservatives are ‘true Americans’. But it strikes me as curious that when Ed Schultz says Marco Rubio is ‘not a true American’, you demur with some excuse about your inability to ‘decipher’ what he meant. Why are Ed’s comments not ‘self-righteous crap’?
I don’t think (or expect) that you follow my critiques of Ed Schultz. I respect Ed’s support of the common working man, but his outrage meter has pegged a lot lately, and I rarely watch anymore. I hadn’t managed to switch to CNN yet that night, but I was working during his Rubio bit, and have not a clue what he was babbling about.
I’m sorry, but I’m not interested in sitting through it again so I can appease your desire to hear my condemnation of a show I already dislike.

Did Donavan complain about white talk radio hosts?

-Giant bug crawls in front of camera-
Probably heard they were looking for a less irritating host …

Most channels/stations do “Look-Live” reports. I think the main point Spud made was using the “Live” bug over taped reports.
September 2, 2011 at 7:51 pm
Grandpa Dave, in mentioning the “live” bug over taped reports, just circled back to farris’ post where a giant bug crawled onto the camera lens.

Damn, it’s boring around here.

Guess Ed’s at it again.
these analyses leave out a number of subtle cues– some on the left would call them “dog whistles”…

So is Alison off F & F weekends? Juliet Huddy has been on the past several weeks.
September 4, 2011 at 10:29 am
I think Aly might just be taking some time off. She was on F&F during the week not that long ago.
She just did a lot of filling in while Megyn Kelly was off. If she’s been moved off of F&F weekend it will be for a bigger gig, that’s for sure.

Liberal logic: the Constitution is an outdated relic, but labor unions are still needed since kids work 12-hr days in the coal mine. #tcot
September 5, 2011 at 12:08 pm
^ That’s nit an accurate representation of how most libs see the Constitution, but thanks for playing.
Andy, I’m glad you enjoyed it. It looks like Baltimore did!
September 5, 2011 at 1:20 pm
I shall try to remember that ‘witty’ banter should always include accurate representations.

I don’t think it’s ‘witty’ to treat libs as un-American, which is what crap like that Constitution quote is about.
Geez, LS, what’s the point of signing up again if you’re trying to get banned?
September 5, 2011 at 1:46 pm
If that’s how you hear it, that’s not my problem.

Tommy is one of the more tolerable libs out there, but he’s still on about Swinging Dickgate. If I were the Prez, I’d say “Stop helping”.
September 5, 2011 at 2:16 pm
I’d comment on Ed’s Rubio rant if I could decipher it.
September 5, 2011 at 2:20 pm
I think Ed and Rush are doing some sort of alien-inspired mind-meld. It’s not pretty.

CNN played a video of the aftermath of Flight 93 and said it was new. Either I’m experiencing deja vu or that video isn’t really new.

None of that self-righteous crap requires defending “libs are un-American”. I’m a liberal and I love my country.

Or why are some of us “un-American” if we don’t feel the conditions are right for us to invest our own monies and hire people?
