HOT: Erin Burnett. Based upon the number of profiles, I’d say CNN is putting a lot into her show and its success. If she stumbles out of the gate, next week she’ll be a NOT.
NOT: Al Sharpton. I heard an ad on the radio voiced by him. Apparently there is going to be a march from the Lincoln Memorial to the new MLK Memorial. The point of the march is to demand that the government create jobs. Putting aside that the government can’t create private sector jobs, I wonder whether MSNBC will allow him to hype the march. FNC was uneasy about Beck promoting his other ventures, but how does MSNBC feel?
No Fox did not host tea party rallies. A couple of Fox shows (Beck and Hannity as I recall) broadcast from the sites of tea party rallies. The broadcasts were not during the rallies, the hosts were not part of the rallies, and in no case did Fox ‘host’ the rallies.
BTW as a PS to the above, when Hannity was going to participate in a tea party event in Cincinnati Fox pulled him out of the event, cancelled his live broadcast, and sent him back to NY.
Hey Hey… just because it’s not true, doesn’t mean people have to stop saying it?
When in the history of MSNBC has an unfounded, untrue, and unrelated on FNC NOT been seen as a good defense for their questionable actions?y of MSNBC has an unfounded, untrue, and unrelated on FNC NOT been seen as a good defense for their questionable actions?
Perhaps MediaMatters could provide a learned opinion on this issue? Monitoring FOXNEWS 7×24 by a dedicated staff of viewers aided with surgically raised eyelids must know of any examples. My old Twitter buddy Oliver Willis, tell us about any Fox Tea-party parties you’ve been party to?
The only Tea Party rally Fox hosted was the one on their air every damn day. They created this monster, and they’re going to cover it’s destruction of the Republican Party. Roger Ailes knows it, and doesn’t seem happy.
NOT HOT – Sitting here watching my dvr recording of ‘The View’ with JJ/Thelma from Good Times.
Well, low and behold there is a special report hosted by Diane Sawyer leading into Obama crowing about the killing of Anwar al-Awlaki. Never mind the AP says he isn’t dead and therefore this was nothing but a propagandist ploy for votes!
Hot: HLN’s Nancy Grace performed one small dip for a dance contest, one giant slip for mankind.
Not: One of the View hags explained how to prevent such excitement.
Hot: CNN appears to be doing better-er in the ratings race.
Not: MSNBC appears to not be.
Not: This week in cable news for its Hot/Not-ishness. I guess that’s sHNotishness.
I’m aware of the Sharpton thing but unfortunately this appears to be a case of guilt by association. So far there’s no evidence that NAN was involved in this at all.

Hot:
Cable News Coverage of Christie, the Hamlet of NJ. “To be or not to be, that is the question”.
Not:
Up w. Chris Hayes. A downer of a liberal support group.

Not: Judging from comments (or lack) around here, Erin Burnett.
October 1, 2011 at 12:17 pm
Burnett: Eh, not much to say ’til the show airs.
October 1, 2011 at 12:24 pm
I would definitely classify Erin Burnett as “hot”, too bad her show will be a failure on CNN.

HOT: MSNBC: The place for fraud.

@Josh: FOX hosted several TEA Party rallies of their own.
MSNBC puts up with Ed Schultz, they’ll put up with Sharpton with their mission to be the liberal version of FOX “News”.

FOX hosted several TEA Party rallies of their own.
I’d think proof of at least one of these events would show up within the first three or four pages of a Google search.
Nuthin’.

Other than that, it’s a good Fox smear.

And even if MSNBC frowns on that Sharpton activity, they have to love this one:

Could be, farris. And there’s not a damn thing that MSNBC can do about this or anything else Sharpton does, lest they be deemed racist!!!!!
October 2, 2011 at 12:48 pm
What a juxtaposition (I would love to her Al Sharpton say this word):
Two separate headlines, from Drudge:
1. “Amanda Knox to have plane on standby”, and
2. “PLANE HITS FERRIS WHEEL”
(Hopefully the plane that hit the Ferris Wheel is not the same one on standby for Amanda Knox.)

HOT: Erin Burnett PR blitz.
NOT: Chris Crawford
NOT: Bob Beckel’s mouth

Btw, that part was my opinion, I didn’t bother reading the article just saw the headline.

‘its’. Dammit.
October 2, 2011 at 3:03 pm
You didn’t read the headline, either.

October 2, 2011 at 3:14 pm
terrance, what on earth are you doing watching the View? I do hope you just wanted to see Mr. DYNOMITE, and not those hags that host the show.
October 2, 2011 at 3:21 pm
That’s multimillionaire hags to you.
October 2, 2011 at 3:43 pm
One of Spud’s rules of this blog is to not poke fun of the appearance of on-air talent.
(rule number 1 of course: “don’t look in the package”)
October 2, 2011 at 3:51 pm
Missy didn’t comment on those hags’ looks.

No, the appearance of the hags is not at issue. It’s their behavior.
October 2, 2011 at 6:40 pm
I hereby withdraw my suggested application of rule-12 paragraph a) under the “hag exclusion principle”.

^ It’s unlikely that NAN would be involved other than being scammed themselves. Even if one thinks the worst of that group, they aren’t morons.
