HLN’s Conrad Murray Gambit Pays Off (Unfortunately)…

HLN is noting its October numbers and how its Conrad Murray Trial Coverage paid off, thus proving once and for all that network programmer cynicism can never underestimate TV viewer stupidity. Hey Time Warner…if you keep allowing HLN to go wall to wall on court cases I have to ask why the hell did you gut Court TV for because HLN is becoming more and more like Court TV with each successive trial you let it carry.

HLN Posts Largest Gains of Any Cable News Network During Daytime Programming

In October, HLN increased by double and triple digits compared to a year ago in both total viewers and the 25-54 demo due to increased viewership for the network’s exclusive coverage of the trial of Dr. Conrad Murray.

Look what’s on daytime network TV: the View, Oprah, countless other talk shows and game shows. “Soap” operas are now a thing of the past, thank God.

I guess they figure that most people with any discernment are working during the day, so they have to aim for the LCD.

  2. Three cable news nets are enough. HLN can go ahead and be some other thing.

  3. There’s only two cable news nets. The other one is a political programming channel with some good news reporting sprinkled-in.

  4. News is overrated. There just isn’t enough crap on TV.

  5. Why must you continue to use rude language in your posts? Such language is distracting and it discourages me from visiting this site. I guess I must rely upon another site for objective news about TV news broadcasting instead of Inside Cable News and TV Newser.
