Trump vs. Todd…
Business Insider’s Zeke Miller writes about a todo that occurred this morning on The Daily Rundown…
Trump took issue with Todd’s introduction that Trump wanted to respond to a poll:
“Let me just first start by saying I was watching the show for about two minutes and you said Donald Trump wanted to respond to a poll.”
“Well, I didn’t even know what poll you’re talking about, number one, Chuck. I didn’t call you, you called me about 40 times trying to get you on the show.”
“Your statement is false. You said, “Donald Trump wanted to respond to a poll.” Well, I didn’t want to respond. your people called my office about 40 times asking me to go on the show. It’s dishonest what you’re saying, Chuck. I wish you would just sort of say it like it is. I think you would do better. I think you would get better ratings if you did that. Is it a correct statement that I did not call you that you called me?”
He added “I am doing NBC a favor by doing this show.”

I saw the complete encounter and think Trump ended up with the upper hand. What Chuck Todd is no different than anchors on all stations do when they present a story headline in a certain way. What was different about this is that Donald Trump took him on on his choice of how he presented the story to the viewer.
Personally, I like this because, we the viewer, get a very different perspective about how stories are brought to the table. The way Chuck presented it was that Trump was the leader on wanting to respond to the poll versus MSNBC taking to the lead to ask him to respond to the poll. Two very different renditions of how this came about. I believe Trump.
I am not commenting on the validity of the poll in any way, don’t know enough about it, just commenting on Chuck Todd’s language on presenting the story to the viewer.

Like it or not Trump haters, but he just took Chuck to the woodshed.

It needs to be done with all media sources. These little setups happen all the time. Most people probably just stumble through, afraid to lose their precious face-time by questioning it. I think Trump is acutely aware of what fools people are for giving him attention, and he responds accordingly.. That’s not always a bad thing.

I caught this as it happened, and was a little mystified when it introduced with “Trump wants to respond”. It sounded like an afterthought, and didn’t make sense. “So Trump called and asked for time?” The Donald went on to sound like the utter moron he is, but he busted Chuck bad.
