I just got new glasses, and instead of putting them on to proofread, etc., they’re in my purse. Sorry for typos, above, even though I know you’re all used to me by now.
Maybe I can get a job at MSNBC. God knows their standards are low.
Hot: Wolf Blitzer showed John King how to parry a Newt Gingrich question rebuff and, in doing so, demonstrated that a television journalist’s experience beats that of a print journalist in a televised environment.
Not: Newt Gingrich, which is only notable because of such a quick turn-around from last week.
Not: Nancy Pelosi’s “threat” and Jan Brewer’s “finger”. Had it been a busier week for cable news we wouldn’t have heard much about either.
A Congressman shouted “You lie!” at a SOTU, and a Gov. said she “felt threatened”. People are saying things to, and about, this President that they wouldn’t if he were white. There’s racial crap being dealt here..deal with it.
^ I don’t care. There are dumbass white people out there who feel comfortable expressing disdain towards this President in forums that were previously off limits. No one shouted “you lie” at Bill Clinton or George Bush; no governor chewed them out on the tarmac, then claimed they “felt threatened”; and the hatred towards those two was palpable. President Obama is not “beneath” them, and they should shut the hell up and respect the office. And while we’re at it, Newt Gingrich might consider calling him President.
Joe, get help. How is it possible that you missed the entire eight years of the Bush administration, where the “Bush lied, people died” mantra was hurled at him INCESSANTLY, from pundits and everyone else on your side?
^ He forgets the “Bush lied people died” mantra that even Sen. Harry Reid used before a national audience. Every president in American history except for Harrison faced such disrespect and he would’ve, too, had he lived longer after taking office.
No govenor has ever been sued by a sitting president for enforcing Federal Immigration law.
If Obama wants to wear the big boy pants, he’s got to step outside his bubble and realize the damage (and the subsequent anger) his administration is causing.
Not: Rude behavior toward the President. It won’t serve us well, hysterical accusations aside. One good thing about Romney is that he seems less prone to it.
“From a group that correctly identified Ret. Gen. Wesley Clark and J. William Fulbright within seconds…”
So? All that tells us is those particular three contestants didn’t recognise her. As the article states farther on, she was identified by one contestant two years ago.
You’d think Jeopardy wouldn’t have repeating questions.
I’m leaning ‘Not’ on this one. Apparently Reynolds Wolf was in the neighborhood, and went to some tourist-trap goldmine. Never been to Babyland General, but it looks as though he was as anxious to get out of there as I would have been. Too much stuff jammed into too short a segment, hosted by a Mike Rowe wannabee. Enjoy!
Mike Huckabee’s interview of Cuba Gooding Jr. is well worth the watch. Makes whining about today’s (real or imaginary) wisps of racism appear silly and reminds us of the true patriotism and honour of a generation who will soon be with us only in our memories.
@Laura: I didn’t like Bush but I would have never gone around saying he was un-American. John Kerry NEVER disrespected George Bush the same way Newt Gingrich does on a daily basis.
I lack your exacting memory of everything Kerry ever said about Bush. I do know that liberals hated Bush prior to the ’04 election, and weren’t shy about expressing it. I also haven’t spend much time defending Gingrich, except against mindless charges of ‘racism’.
@Laura: Newt says food stamps are an African American issue. The majority of people on food stamps are white, yet Newt acts like it’s an issue exclusive to blacks and says black people go on food stamps because they’re lazy. That IS racism.
There’s a difference between racism and race-baiting – a distinction I can’t get a soul on this blog to understand. I don’t think Gingrich is racist..he just uses terminology that mean white people with a chip on their shoulders about “those lazy blacks” respond to. Newt does gutter politics? Shocked.
True, Joe. People in South Carolina and Virginia have serious problems that blacks are allowed to go to their schools and take their jobs.
The problem is, the sense of entitlement is far greater in the white community. People in SC, VA and even parts of Maryland think that anytime a black person has a decent job, that person has taken something from the white community. I would hate to grow up as an African American boy.
And speaking of entitlements — how about rich people, who got their wealth by going through the same system we all do, saying they shouldn’t pay any taxes. They earn their money and it’s fine, I have no problem with it. But they go through the same education system, use the same public facilities and use the same financial aid system. But now, they think those programs should be taken away from future generations because they don’t want to pay taxes. Now, THAT’S your “sense of entitlement” Republicans talk so much about.
Can you believe that guy? He said he wouldn’t be back until Newt loses and..POOF..he’s gone. Everybody knows you don’t really mean it when you say ‘bye’ to a blog..
I would hate to grow up as an African American boy.
Well if you don’t act a like a victim of an oppressive race trying to keep you down every 5 seconds and actually enact a little hard work it’s not bad.
Is there a video of that encounter anywhere? With the still photo I can’t tell whether she’s pointing at him in anger, using it as an exclamation about some other dweeb they were discussing, or if she was about to blow on the end and put it back in her holster.
It could be that she’s an idiot who doesn’t give a crap about respect for the office – hers or his – and proves it by plastering the media with racist BS about “feeling threatened”.

Joe, here’s the thing: when there’s alleged bad behavior by a conservative, you love to point it out. Then when we find similar behavior done by one of you libs, you ALWAYS seem to justify it by specifying that the principals involved are not of the correct status, that the conservative deserves such bad treatment or that there’s a full moon or something.
You always excuse bad behavior on your side. ALWAYS!!!!!
Don’t bother Missy. The guy may have eyes, but he can’t see anything. He hates people who disagree with him, and insults those who dare to speak up about it.
You’re far too thoughtful and rational to deal with this man-child.
January 28, 2012 at 11:25 am
So blacks (Sharpton et al) are apparently upset at Jan Brewer’s apparent “finger wagging” at 0bama. You guess it’ it’s racist!
When are they NOT upset? A bird could have landed near the POTUS and it would have been Bush’s fault, and of course racist.
Our society has truly reached a new low when a race hustler is taken seriously, and paid HUGE BUCKS, just to be an a…h….

Joe, Rep.Wilson’s fears were well founded, as the POTUS DID lie about illegals and their coverage under 0bamacare.
Deal with it.

And last time I checked, Bush was no minority.

Yeah, correlating a private citizen on a blog to Represetatives in a SOTU, and Governors greeting a President, makes perfest sense. Pathetic.

Guys… it’s Joe.
He’s a ideological hack, and a liar. Why are we continually surprised by this?
January 28, 2012 at 4:40 pm
Joe is often mistaken about facts but he is not a liar.
January 28, 2012 at 4:52 pm
^ I disagree. There’s very little he isn’t willing to “misremember” in an effort to push his POV. The above is just today’s example.

But I guess if some flaming liberal member of the MSM does it at Bush, it’s OK in that case.
