The best shack in a lousy neighborhood.
In other words, a nitch audience of mostly proud socialists. There is a market for everything.
That’s the beauty of capitalisim and freedom.
June 26, 2012 at 2:21 pm
Let them eat FNC’s dust.
June 26, 2012 at 2:22 pm
It’s “niche”, and to mislabel traditional liberals as “socialists” is BS wingnut rhetoric.

From TV NEWSER:
“Still, most of MSNBC’s signature shows are down double digits in younger viewers: “The Ed Show” is down -26%; “The Rachel Maddow Show” is down -18%, and “Last Word” is down -20%”
Figures don’t lie, but liars figure.

Would be hilarious to read CNN’s spin about ratings, but guess they gave up on sending out the press releases.

Figures don’t lie, but liars figure.
And those figures ain’t coming back. When my 25yo daughter moved a few months ago, she didn’t bother to hook up cable. She watches Rachel on the internet, which is what a lot of young people are doing: No PC, no TV, no landline…not even a laptop. They’re paying for one service for their cell phone; another for a tablet; and getting all their news and entertainment from those two sources.

Joe, The Obama administration (USA government) owns the majority GM. The largest industrial company in the US. They also own the majority of AIG the largest insurance company in the world. They own the majority of Ally Fincial one of the biggest banks and they are the majority investors in scores of failing green energy companies. (companies that don’t make profits with out market distorting government subsidies). I don’t support any government, Republican or Democrat, that would do this.
MSNBC supports, cheerleads this policy and the correct precise term for this is policy is fascism and socialisim
No company in their right mind would produce the colossal failure called the Volt. It’s billions in the hole. So please spare me the spin and delusional happy talk. What else could they have done with that billion. Volt is the new Edsel.
June 26, 2012 at 3:20 pm
You’re painting the rescue of a country facing permanent economic destruction as some kind of Grand Socialist Plan. You have no clue what you’re talking about. That goes for automobile technology, too.
June 26, 2012 at 3:23 pm
You apparently think the Volt was an Obama plan. Wrong again..it had been in the pipeline for years, i.e., during the housing bubble when everyone was refinancing their homes and spending it on new cars.
June 26, 2012 at 3:27 pm
Bingo, Yes, it’s a socialist plan vs a free market plan. There were excellent alternatives that would of let the market work. No, now we have zombie companies that are pulling us all down. Happy!
You don’t even own a Volt! Now that’s proof right there that it is already an obsolete dog. The subsidy for the volt should be called. Cash for clunkers!
June 26, 2012 at 3:36 pm
How would that “free market plan” have gotten GM through bankruptcy without anyone to reinvest, eh Sparky? Oh right, screw the American auto industry..we don’t need those jobs anyway.
I own a Chevy HHR SS, as you can clearly see. I bought it shortly after the recession began because I wanted to support Amarican manufacturing. I’ve had less trouble (and more fun) with it than my previous Hondas and Toyotas. I’d love to have a Plug-In Hybrid version someday. If this one ever wears out…

Getting back to topic, I believe the rating services have been moving to pick up viewing from other sources via phone survey etc. A commercial network like MSNBC can charge advertisers rates based on the size of its viewership. They can’t afford to let their viewship travel to a place it can’t be measured. They are not supported by contributions from viewers like you, Joe. Thank you..
June 26, 2012 at 4:03 pm
Unless they’re counting clicks, they’re not getting a true picture of who’s watching shows on the web. Phone surveys? Pfft. Even if they’re actually calling cell phones, nobody’s answering. That’s what God created Voicemail for.

When the available information doesn’t tell you what you want to hear, make up something new, imagine it to be fact, and ease your conscious with the new story.
Whatever helps you sleep at night, Joe. Up is down, black is white, MSNBC’s ratings aren’t as bad as the industry standard indicates.
June 26, 2012 at 8:40 pm
And FNC can eat Spongebob Squarepants’ dust.
June 26, 2012 at 8:48 pm
Oh have a heart attack, Blue. ALL cable news numbers are down, and it’s for the reason I stated: People are moving from watching live, to watching on DVR, to watching on tablets. I give you…The Future.
June 26, 2012 at 8:57 pm
I’m actually watching a Wolf Blitzer hologram on my coffee table. The Weeble guys surrounding him kind of creep me out. Wish we could go back to the wireless.

@Joe
Thanks for the well wishes, Joe!
Fact remains that you can scream (do you do anything other than scream?) about what things “really” are, without proof. Or, you can base things in reality, not your imagined little world. Until there’s info that backs up your THEORY… you’ve got nothing.
Sorry to bring you down.
@Prog
You get your news from SpongeBob?

“@Prog
You get your news from SpongeBob?”
explains a lot

It’s my opinion. That’s kinda what we do here. Do I need to state “in my opinion” before every damn comment? Geez, dude.
