It’s nice that CNN has some. My brother is riding it out right now.

Last night the spouse was saying that based on the central pressure of the storm (or whatever it’s called), it would be a Category Two. They were predicting Cat One because of the wind-speed. Sure enough, they’re now calling it Category Two.

FNC and MSNBC are both letting CNN do the one thing it does right. The former are still on live convention coverage as of 12:50am.

Fox has a girl the size of a toothpick trying not to get blown across the gulf. At least put a guy out there, you jerks.

You shoulda seen the reaction to “girl in the hurricane” on Twitter last night. Apparently I’m a sexist pig who hates the womens. Yay me.

not enough love on Twitter

I’m getting real tired of hearing about how such-and-such is “just like in Katrina”. Um, it’s a hurricane. ALL hurricanes have common elements. An old lady losing her home isn’t any more “just like Katrina” than any other storm. It’s becoming a cliche.

Now Issac just a tropical storm can Anderson Cooper dry off?
Obama was supposed to manage the hurricane. Someone died today and he’s campaigning. Media ignores; too busy wondering if convention is appropriate.

During this stage of Katrina’s impact on the Gulf Coast, US Navy ships that Bush had already ordered to follow the storm in from the Atlantic were in full action mode. Physicians and nurses from around the country were deploying into Texas, Mississippi, and Alabama. Not Louisiana, though, as Gov. Blanco wouldn’t issue an EO to temporarily waive licensing rules. Shep Smith witnessed the Red Cross convoy not being allowed to do anything.
Gov. Jindal took the necessary steps for this one. Not much for a POTUS to do.

What coverage?
