  1. It’s nice that CNN has some. My brother is riding it out right now.

  2. Last night the spouse was saying that based on the central pressure of the storm (or whatever it’s called), it would be a Category Two. They were predicting Cat One because of the wind-speed. Sure enough, they’re now calling it Category Two.

  3. FNC and MSNBC are both letting CNN do the one thing it does right. The former are still on live convention coverage as of 12:50am.

  4. Annnd MSNBC skips the hurricane for rerun convention coverage. Nice.

  5. icemannyr Says:

MSNBC is live at 2am covering Hurricane Isaac.
Lynn Berry & Meteorologist Bill Karins.

  6. Fox has a girl the size of a toothpick trying not to get blown across the gulf. At least put a guy out there, you jerks.

  7. icemannyr Says:

    CNN has Natalie Allen anchoring.

MSNBC went back to old convention coverage from 12am ET at 3am.
Bill Karins doing live weather updates.
MSNBC should have a scroll “This is The Place for Politics if you want The Place for Hurricane Coverage tune to The Weather Channel.”

FNC is live with Gregg and Jamie.

  8. savefarris Says:

In Baton Rouge, we’ve had exactly 3 wind gusts and a splash of rain.

    GREATEST HURRICANE EVER!!!

  9. Will Anderson be the boy who called Blitzer?

  10. Joe is watching Fox.

  11. ^Can’t find the remote – and doesn’t know how to change the channel manually.

Only explanation I can think of.

    Just pull the plug, Joe.

  12. YOU try finding the off switch on the front of an HDTV..

  13. ^I know, I know – that’s why I said pull the plug.

Go to the garage and pop the fuse?

If only you had one of Larry’s guns…..

  14. You shoulda seen the reaction to “girl in the hurricane” on Twitter last night. Apparently I’m a sexist pig who hates the womens. Yay me.

  15. not enough love on Twitter

  16. I’m getting real tired of hearing about how such-and-such is “just like in Katrina”. Um, it’s a hurricane. ALL hurricanes have common elements. An old lady losing her home isn’t any more “just like Katrina” than any other storm. It’s becoming a cliche.

  17. Now Issac just a tropical storm can Anderson Cooper dry off?

Obama was supposed to manage the hurricane. Someone died today and he’s campaigning. Media ignores; too busy wondering if convention is appropriate.

  18. During this stage of Katrina’s impact on the Gulf Coast, US Navy ships that Bush had already ordered to follow the storm in from the Atlantic were in full action mode. Physicians and nurses from around the country were deploying into Texas, Mississippi, and Alabama. Not Louisiana, though, as Gov. Blanco wouldn’t issue an EO to temporarily waive licensing rules. Shep Smith witnessed the Red Cross convoy not being allowed to do anything.

Gov. Jindal took the necessary steps for this one. Not much for a POTUS to do.

  19. CBS this morning: “Issac is blamed for one death so far”.

Meanwile in Frostbie Falls Minnesota, Condolia Breckenridge is blamed for one death after forgeting to refrigerate a jar of Miracle Whip after opening it.
