What’s Hot/What’s Not: 09/16/12

What’s Hot:

Middle East Turmoil – Cable News was all over the uprisings in the Middle East this week and the murder of American State Department personnel, including a US Ambassador, in Libya.

Carol Costello’s Facebook Page – Costello threw a bit of an elbow at the leg crossing at Fox and Friends First. And it blew up across the internet from there…

Sara Sidner – Sidner moves to CNN’s Jerusalem Bureau, which can only be considered as a promotion.

FBN’s New Graphics – They haven’t even debuted yet but word leaked out, first via ICN and later in a story on RBR.com, about FBN changing up its on screen graphics big time and going 16×9 on its SD broadcast.

What’s Not:

Amanda Drury – Her former agency WME is suing her for its alleged share of the cut from her deal with CNBC that it helped negotiate…

Gretchen Carlson – Carlson’s long term future with FNC is apparently uncertain…

Thomas Roberts – Roberts hiding behind the “I’m a Journalist” shield when asked who he was voting for this election after coming out from behind said shield to offer an opinion on the subject of the GOP and voter suppression rang hollow…

Phil Griffin – Griffin took a shot at FNC when saying that MSNBC complimented “the other side” but FNC did not. Well as boomerangs tend to fly, this one came right back at him when TVNewser posted (what I think) was a leak from FNC detailing the recent compliments FNC talent did pay to “the other side”.

  1. “Everyone’s long term future is uncertain”

    Conan O’Brian, 2006

  2. Who in FNC is the leaker? I suspect one of “Beltway Boys”. Known bladder troubles.
