Ed Schultz has Another Ed Schultz Moment?

From an emailer…

He called the GOP bastards, then apologized a few minutes later.

Not quite to the level of the Republican party wanting to see us dead but in the ballpark. Waiting to see video to see how much time between the incident and the apology and whether Phil Griffin can be heard screaming in the background…

Update: Video via NewsBusters and Noel Sheppard. Schultz claimed he hadn’t had a talking to over the comment.

  1. He said it, then did an interview, then apologized. I would say about 5 minutes. Enough time to hear about it in his ear..

Must be hard for Ed to tell the difference between the voices in his ear and those in his head.

  3. ^

Just saw the video at newsbusters. Dude’s a little coo-coo. But, at least he doesn’t pretend to be anything other than what he is…unlike the talking heads at the Big 3.

  5. Dude is a little coo-coo..with good reason. He’s right.

  6. He knows his audience.

    ^ true

  8. Feed ’em their Cocoa Puffs.

  9. I’m more of a Lucky Charms man. They’re magically delicious, dontcha know.

  10. Well..that was fun. Just had a look at NewsBusters’ piece on this, and took a little tour of the comment section. What a bunch of knuckledragging morons. Sheesh.

^ The same as any heavily partisan site, Joe.

  12. ^ Which reminds me why I avoid them. That shyte’s evil.

  13. NewsBusters’ comments section is up to the level of vitriol that doesn’t compare to many other blogs. Same with Fox Nation. It’s just constant name calling and hateful talk.

On the liberal side, the more hateful ones (as far as the comments section) are Think Progress and NewsHounds.

Media Matters actually has real discussions that you can debate with civility. There will be some name calling from the fringe type people, but it’s nothing compared to NB’s. Crooks & Liars is also pretty civil.

To be honest, I don’t know too much about the comments section of conservative blogs, so I can’t comment on too many of them.

    Just my two cents…

After all the talk of the NB’s comments, I perused the ones under the Ed Schultz story. I didn’t think they were that bad. No where near what you could find on the lefty sites like Kos under Bush.

I read about 12 posts and didn’t spot a curse word. There were other terms like “socialist” “Marxist”, etc. but not the flat out hate I read day after day pre Obama.

  15. Yes, Daily Kos can get a little too fringy, as well, even for me. I really can’t stand sites like that. I think I’ve only visited DK a handful of times, anyway, and I already reached that conclusion.

While the Schultz story on NB’s wasn’t too bad in the comments, I have seen it get pretty bad in the past. I’ve even commented and gotten banned from posting.
