Chelsea Clinton to NBC…
The New York Times’ Bill Carter writes that Chelsea Clinton has been hired by NBC as a correspondent…
NBC is to announce on Monday morning that it has hired Chelsea Clinton to become a full-time special correspondent for NBC News.
The appointment is immediate. Ms. Clinton will show up at the news division offices oon Monday morning, said Steve Capus, president of NBC News, and will begin work on stories that NBC expects to use as part of its “Making a Difference” series, which runs on “NBC Nightly News.”

NBC seems to have a thing going with the children of presidents. She’ll be good.

Of course the rightwing reactionaries on Twitter are already twisted up about it. She’s going to do features on volunteer work, and no doubt will bring her Socialist Marxist slant to it. Idiots.

Why are you looking at Twitter for anything of actual substance?
November 13, 2011 at 11:35 pm
I was specifically bashing Johnny Dollar, but was being polite about it.
November 14, 2011 at 12:08 am
I see.
November 14, 2011 at 12:17 am
Actually, Twitter beats every other platform for breaking news, not to mention being big fun on debate nights.

For the record, Joe bashed me for describing her as an unbiased journalist. Of course the bashing, as here, featured name-calling.
November 14, 2011 at 6:14 am
That’s his specialty.
November 14, 2011 at 10:30 am
What else is there?
November 14, 2011 at 11:29 am
On the one hand, I don’t think NBC would have hired a real reporter , on the other, she doesn’t get a meeting with Capus if her last name is Smith.
November 14, 2011 at 1:58 pm
Yeah, I’m supposed to take “(MS)NBC hires another unbiased journalist” as anything but partisan sarcasm. Hack.
November 14, 2011 at 2:12 pm
Yes, how dare anyone snark or crack wise at the credentials (or lack thereof) of someone hired to be a journalist at NBC news. It used to be that years of experience were required to get on NBC News air as a reporter or journalist. Now all it takes is a last name. But don’t dare express any skepticism, because Joe will unleash the name-calling. Note his technique: first idiot, then hack. That’s known as the rotating personal attack: no one bit of name-calling gets over exposed. Sort of like crop rotation for personal attacks.

If you’re gonna proclam to tell The Truth, then act like an idiotic partisan hack..face the music.
November 14, 2011 at 2:40 pm
I’ll face the music if you point me to the song where I’m not ‘telling the truth’. Get off your hypersensitive high horse that fakes umbrage if anyone even dares indulge in a little snark about a network that hires celebrities and calls them news correspondents.
Howard Kurtz called the hiring a ‘cheap gimmick’ and added that ‘a lot of journalists’ would’ve liked that job. So call him a name. Here’s a rundown of a few other reactions:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/11/14/chelsea-clinton-nbc-news_n_1092671.html
Now track all those people down and call them names too.
Your reaction to even a mild wisecrack that you disagree with fits well with your MSNBC-watching habits, where four-vs-zero and five-vs-zero discussions are rapidly becoming commonplace. If you’re going to react like that because I referred to Chelsea Clinton as an unbiased journalist, I can just imagine your reaction to all those other writers who are much more blunt about her hypocrisy and utter lack of qualifications.
Now I suppose you’ll have more names to call me. Go ahead. I understand that you find that much easier than addressing facts.
November 14, 2011 at 2:52 pm
The fact is, Chelsea Clinton is an interesting person who will draw eyes to a topic that otherwise wouldn’t get much attention. Pretending that she’s being hired as a ‘reporter’ – like she’s gonna be asking questions at a WH briefing – is ridiculous.
November 14, 2011 at 3:21 pm
Name calling should be outlawed and the perpetrators should be disciplined. I’m so mad I’m leaving this blog forever! That’s it boys and girls, I’m outta here!
…
just checking in. anybody say anything about me?
…
maybe I’ll change my mind if you all say you love me.
…
well, nobody did, but I’m back because I feel better now.
