Fox and Friends adds an Hour

The Hollywood Reporter’s Michael O’Connell scoops that Fox and Friends is expanding by starting an hour earlier and reviving the Fox and Friends First label…

Fox & Friends’ fourth hour will be manned by a rotating pair of FNC personalities. Those already on deck to appear are Heather Childers, Dave Briggs, Ainsley Earhardt, Heather Nauert, Juliet Huddy, Julie Banderas, Anna Kooiman, Clayton Morris, Arthel Neville, Jamie Colby and Patti Ann Browne.

Note to O’Connell: “exclusivity”?

Ainsley Earhardt and Anna Kooiman are hosting Monday’s debut show. Good for Ainsley. Well deserved.

They have so many weekend anchors and such they might as well do this. I wouldn’t mind seeing F&F first airing for two hours followed by a two-hour F&F but that will never happen. I wish it would, though, because there are many talented people like Julie B and Juliet H. who hardly get any airtime.

    And Patti Ann Browne.

  4. now all 3 news channels have 5am hour live …

How will Heather Nauert will do F&F First at 5am when she is the 4:30am-7am co anchor of GDNY on FOX5?

  6. starbroker Says:

Just more time for FOX NEWS/Fox Business to rule the mornings.

Odd with all the Imus talk/FBN no ratings etc that this story doesn’t get mentioned around here:

IMUS beats CNN and CNBC in the ratings. And he’s in about 40M less homes than they are.

  7. That story is a joke. TVN got played.

BTW, I’m waiting for Boogiewoogie to go ape that Ainsley is going to be more prominently featured on FNC…

  10. ^ Irony ALERT

    ^ I get it!

  12. Who cares? That’s like 5 a.m. and it looks like a whole bunch of has-beens, never-weres, and the 2 weekend dolts are going to rotate. Or maybe the suits will settle on a few regulars after an audition period?

It’s not exactly going to be The Five, which What’shername never had a shot at doing.

  13. Why stop at one hour? Lets run F&F till noon or even better 5PM. It’s the perfect example of a FNC dayside show. 😉

Uh oh. That means Papa Bear’s third telecast will not be shown.

From what I’ve read, this was less about MSNBC and CNN and more about the success local markets have had in early morning hours. Where I live, the Fox affiliate starts at 4:30 a.m. and the others start at 5.

  16. I feel bad for local news people starting at 4:30.

  17. On the debut of Fox & Friends First, Ainsley Earhardt starts the show with a bight smile and no sleeves… which apparently offends some people for reasons I don’t understand. Her co-host appears to be another Ainsley Earhardt.
