Donald Trump Assists Wolf Blitzer in Destroying Donald Trump…

Read the Mediaite summary here. It was quite possibly the worst shellacking I’ve seen Trump take. I’ve never seen him so feckless and feeble in his lame responses to Blitzer’s questions. Blitzer’s deconstruction of Trump was clinically methodical and surgical. And Blitzer wasn’t even trying that hard really. Trump just kept stepping back into that bear trap and Blitzer naturally slammed it shut again and again. It was brutal. And deserved.

The only thing that sucked about the segment is that CNN will now replay it 50 bazillion times the next 24 hours.

  1. We all see what we want to see in this. I always loved the birth certificate thing because it got liberals to wet their pants in ways flag burning, partial birth abortions, and panting pictures of Mary in elephant dung never would.

  2. Now take POLITICO’s headline for the same story:

“Donald Trump takes shot at CNN ratings”

  3. libertyandjustice Says:

After listening to the clip at politico, I think Spud’s spin misreported this incident. Fact are Facts, and CNN does not have an audience, There must be a reason for it. In my opinion it’s obvious, just look at Blitzer’s continuing inability to be impartial. Regarding CNN, almost every public survey will back me up.

  4. Wolf is being unfair by questioning Trump’s birther madness? Uh huh.

  5. Oh who can blame Wolf. He thinks Trump is off his rocker.

  6. Trump IS off his rocker…

  7. Trump is a loathsome, embarrassing human being who buys tolerance by being a billionaire. Blitzer is a hero, but only for saying what should have been said months ago.

  8. To call Wolf a hero makes me feel uncomfortable.

  9. mlong5000 Says:

Trumps an idiot and Wolf was trying to protect Obama…nothing new in that.

  10. Or maybe Wolf was questioning an idiot who persists with a conspiracy-theory over a year after it was disproven. Grow the hell up.

  11. And how in God’s name does shredding Trump “protect” Obama anyway, unless you believe that he’s not a citizen? Just wondering.

  12. The question is whether Wolf is a citizen. Rumor is that he is the son of a U-Boat captain who snuck up the Huson River at the end of WW II with family on board.

  13. lonestar77 Says:

I don’t think Trump actually believes in the birther stuff. I think he just likes publicity.

  14. Lawrence O’Donnell says Trump’s birther crap is the beacon for all racist voters, and Romney is making sure he gets every racist vote on the table. He’s right. It’s disgusting.

  15. savefarris Says:

Wow, Trump is so stupid. I can’t believe he’d … take Obama at his word. Chump…

  16. lonestar77 Says:

Lawrence O’Donnell says….all kinds of crazy stuff. That’s a stupid assertion. LOD has always been a whack job.

  17. I can’t quite figure why questioning where Obama was born is racist, but what the heck. Just not liking Obama is probably racist enough. Not liking Bill Clinton was close enough to be racist.

Here is the latest LOD, “you could be a racist if” list:
    1) You didn’t buy Jello when Cosby sold it.
    2) You let a black lady set behind you on a bus.
    3) You didn’t smile when you saw the pic of Zimmerman’s nose.
    4) You think the King of Pop was a bit odd.
    5) You cheer for the Washington Generals.

  18. He says that “many people will put the announcements in, in order to get the ‘benefits’ of being an American”. Um, that’s something that I’ve heard happening in recent years, but in 1961?? Except for maybe Social Security, that was prior to most of our welfare-state. He gets nuttier every time you listen.

  19. Not every birther is racist, but every racist is a birther. Pining for the birther vote is a racist tactic. Donald Trump is a goon, and the GOP should distance itself from his loathsome race-baiting immediately.

  20. “Trumps an idiot”

    ^^ Yeah, but he’s Mitt Romney’s and the Republican Party’s idiot. 😉

“Wolf was trying to protect Obama…”

^^ By asking rational questions and not excepting crazy birther talking points for answers? Yeah he’s defiantly in the bag for Obama. 🙂

  21. lonestar77 Says:

I would bet you that 50% of actual racists (not the MSNBC branded racists…which is everybody who doesn’t enjoy MSNBC) don’t even know what a birther is.

It’s not a tactic. That’s stupid. It doesn’t make any sense. If there is this huge community of racist birther honky crackers out there, they’re not gonna vote for Obama anyway. And, they’re not gonna say, “you know, I wasn’t going to vote at all but that Romney feller had lunch with Donald Trump, the Apprentice & casino guy, so he’s got my vote”. Dumb. Just dumb.

  22. lonestar77 Says:

“Yeah he’s defiantly in the bag for Obama.”

Hey! You got something right for a change. 🙂

  23. mlong5000 Says:

Will Wolf ever ask Andrew Sullivan about his Trig Palin truther beliefs when he appears after writing another pro-Obama article?

As for calling people who question Obama birth location racist..well that card is played against anyone that doesn’t worship the One so it doesn’t have the weight it once did..face it the Race card has been really worned out.

  24. Trump is no idiot and he’s not off his rocker. He is a self-marketing genius. Whether you’re a conservative, a liberal, or of no particular ideology at all, whenever you hear something crazy about or from Donald Trump you immediate think, “Oh, it’s Donald Trump so I’m not all that surprised.” Each time it happens his celebrity goes up a small notch and he’s parleyed that shtick to the point where he’s now a routine guest on just about every talk show of all the networks.

In the past Donald Trump supported the campaigns of: Ted Kennedy, John Kerry, Joe Biden, Tom Daschle, Harry Reid, Hillary Clinton, Anthony Weiner, Charlie Schumer and Rahm Emanuel. Trying to wrap him around Romney’s neck prolly idn’t such a smart strategy.

  25. Except that the press had no particular interest in attaching him to those people in a negative fashion. And he either was not promoting the birther BS at the time, or it had no relevance to those other candidates. Certainly not Kerry.

  26. I seem to recall he said some things about Dick Cheney that made the rounds.

  27. No memory of that at all, but I’ll go out on a limb and say that the press probably approved of it. Which is sorta the point.

  28. This birther crap is the firsty memorable thing Donald Trump has ever said. Which tells you all you need to know about Donald Trump.

  29. lonestar77 Says:

    ^ “You’re fired” was first, I believe.

  30. missy5537 Says:

OK, maybe he was born in Hawaii. Fine. But why the hell can’t we see his college grades?

Why do I have to produce college transcripts from 30 years ago just to perform a mere cost analysis job, while the POTUS just gets to stand there and look arrogant, as if such trivia is beneath him?

  31. “OK, maybe he was born in Hawaii. Fine. But why the hell can’t we see his college grades?”

    ^^ Why?

If, like you say, he was born in Hawaii, what are the college transcripts going to prove? And if he released them you’d only say they were forgeries It’s just a way of demeaning the POTUS by saying we don’t believe YOU could possibly be a real American.

Maher may have a point with his ‘wifer’ schtick. Lets ask for Romney’s ‘real’ marriage certificate and then say it only proves he’s married to Ann Romney; not that he isn’t married to other women. It’s about as relevant as the birther crap Missy, and others here, spout.

  32. imnotblue Says:

^ Have any previous Presidents, or Presidential candidates failed to release their college records?

    Precedent, perhaps?

  33. imnotblue Says:

And… ah yes, Bill Maher. The defacto-leader of the Democratic Party. Fun! Now THERE’S a guy you want to follow.

  34. joeremi Says: “This birther crap is the firsty memorable thing Donald Trump has ever said. Which tells you all you need to know about Donald Trump.”

No, that tells you all you need to know about somebody named “Joe”. Donald Trump’s first autobiography, The Art of the Deal, became one of the most successful business best-sellers of all time, having sold in excess of three million copies, and reigned as a New York Times “number one best-seller”.

  35. savefarris Says:

If, like you say, he was born in Hawaii, what are the college transcripts going to prove?

    A. If he’s as smart as everyone from David Axelrod to David Brooks says he is.
    B. What courses he took (lots of business or lots of african-american studies)
    C. Whether or not he identifed as Kenyan-born (like he did for publishers) in order to qualify for scholarships.
    D. Whether he benefited from Affirmative Action.

Ask yourself the flip-side of the question: if everything in his transcripts is on the up-and-up, then why is he working so hard to keep them out of sight?

  36. “A. If he’s as smart as everyone from David Axelrod to David Brooks says he is.”

^^ I don’t think anyone, except maybe Tea Party types like you, seriously doubt’s the guy is smart.

“B. What courses he took (lots of business or lots of african-american studies)”

^^ What’s that going to tell you?

“C. Whether or not he identifed as Kenyan-born (like he did for publishers) in order to qualify for scholarships.”

^^ Why would he say he was born in Kenya if he was born in Hawaii? I may be wrong but I doubt there are any scholarships for Americans pretending they are Kenyans without a Kenyan birth certificate. There are though lots of scholarships for smart American students; particularly African-American students.(That one is really dumb even for you Farris)

“D. Whether he benefited from Affirmative Action.”

    ^^Kenya has Affirmative-Action programs? Don’t forget he’s from Kenya. 😉
